Dave Parris and Ritchie Davies

Post by fightscorecollector »

Had Murray winning the fight up until the stoppage

Parris 88-83
Davies 87-85

Im sorry but that is wrong, especially Parris card. Luckily Crolla got the KO. Saw around 10 press scores last night and all had Crolla winning at time of stoppage with the closes score being 86-85 for Crolla...I ha it 87-84 Crolla

Will Parris or Davies be asked to explain their terrible scorecard???

So you agree with 88 -83? That is an awful card however you dress it.

Not sure what Parris was watching, but I don't see any problem with Richie Davies' score, it could be argued that Murray won all of the first 4 rounds, certainly 3 of them, then after that it only needs 1 more round to be scored to Murray and another to be given even and you get to 87-85.

88-83 Murray is a pants scorecard.

I had it 86-85 Crolla. I can take swing rounds & rounds where one guy's doing more work, one guy's doing damage. They're always gonna split people. Round either side of my score, I'd not argue one bit.

But look at at this way please: if Murray had somehow survived the tenth & held on for two rounds, he'd have still won on Parris's scorecard. That, taking into account the fight we saw, is indicative of a very bad night.

S'okay. We all have them. I intend to sit down & have one for Marquez-Mayweather one day. I'm sure if I approach it with the right attitude I can get Marquez to come out a winner.

PS: From the TV, commentary off.

I had Crolla 2 up. I could even see it a round still to Murray, but 88-83? Jesus.

This is the problem with boxing with the common man. 3 dinosaurs deciding the destiny of the fighters. I recommend round by rounds scoring to makes these useless idiots justified in their decisions!!!

This fight generated a very mixed understanding of who was winning rounds.
I find fights where you have an agressive come fwd fighter often generates this tyoe of reaction. In my opinion the key is judging how effective the agressive come fwd fighter has been.

It was an easy fight to score , John shot his bolt , Crolla sucked it up and took control.

...so when the best make a mistake they shouldn't be criticised because of what they've done previously?

Also, 87-85 Murray is at least achievable via normal maths. The main thrust on this thread seems--quite rightly--the 88-83. No-one is asking for a hanging, drawing & quartering. Just pointing out a bad card.

Anyone active in pro boxing would be foolish to criticise a ref (even on a forum).

Do you think the ref in that case made an honest mistake?
