This was advertised all week as Sidorenko vs Lopez, then changed at the last minute. Decent fight though.

Probably will get highlights of it again at a later date - usually the following Tuesday at 7.

On tuesday Eurosport are showing the Spotlight card live from Austria from 19CET. They will show Boytsov vs journeyman of the month and Virchis vs Sprott. Its on so early because there is some snooker tournament

Sidorenko vs Lopez is scheduled for tomorrow at 15.00 CET on Eurosport 2 (Stu Im looking at you). Might be the Sam vs Maskaev fight instead

They showed that russian olypic guy Povotkin (or something) against a canadian tommato can on the same bill can't say he looked very good, only fighting 4 rounds and didn't seem to have much power, looked open to shots but seemed to do better when he started moving to the body later on interesting to see though

Well this fight was advertised as Sidorenko but they actually showed Maskaev vs Sam, surprise surprise, not that I'm arguing, it was a great fight. Very impressed with Maskaev but although Sam was poor and plodding, Oleg looked pretty durable in there and will give the WBC champion whoever that will be a good test.

On the subject of Povetkin, never seen him fight yet, but if he's looking open already at this stage of his career imagine when he steps up. Obviously another example of a top amateur failing to make the grade in the pro ranks.

Sam is more frustrating than Danny Williams, cast iron chin - decent handspeed, good shot variety. Just no motivation and poor footspeed.

I just wish I could give him a good old shaking, the guy could be a real player if he only tried that little bit harder.

I agree, Sam has the ability but his work rate is poor and he sometimes just plods forward with no imagination. But he has one of the best left-right combinations in the heavyweight division and could have done so much more, and who is to say he won't in a division as poor as this? We'll probably see him fighting Sam Peter or someone like that next, win that (unlikely) and he's back in business.

It's the first time i've seen Sam since the Gomez fight and he looked physically very poor. I remember against Williams he was brawny and pretty swift handed but flabby. Now he just looks like a fat guy.

But when people talk about all time undentable chins Sam should start getting mentioned along side McCulough & McCall. Maskaev was landing flush bombs in every round but Sam just kept plodding lethargically forward.

He should probably get out as being able to take poundings like those will start taking their toll soon but i expect he'll kept busy being put in against young bangers who need the rounds.

Samuel Peter would be the best opponent for Sam, as slow and Sam will not have to go looking for him. I give him a big chance vs Peter.

I tend to agree, Stu. I really don't rate Peter at all; I think he's slow, predictable, and not as heavy a hitter as he's meant to be. I think Sam could take his shots easier than some may think. Could Sam fire back the combo's he needs to though? I do have my doubts about that, the bloke is lazy, or so it seems. It'd be a big break for him if he could, because Peter has some worldwide recognition right now.

Yes, its crazy it appears that Peter has got more recognition since the Wlad loss (where he was crap) than before it.
