Does anyone know of Fighters that Have won Back to back World Championships recently ? Thanks in advance

Joe Ward, World Junior 70kg champion then won the 75kg World youths the following year .

Bahodirjon Sultonov, Uzbekistan and Osmay Acosta, Cuba did it in world Cadet 2001 and World Youth 2002.

Ilhom Rahimov, Uzbekistan and Dimitri Chudinov, Russia did it in 2003 and 2004.

Yordan Frometa and Julio Cesar Iglesias, both Cuba did it in 2005 and 2006.

Rey Recio, Cuba did it in 2007 and 2008.

Besides Joe Ward, also Oleg Neklyudov, Ukraine in 2009 and 2010. Both failed to win a triple, as both lost at the Youth Olympic Games in 2010.

Tomorrow Shakur Stevenson, USA and Abylaykhan Zhusupov, Kazakhstan have the chance to win both titles.

Interestingly none of those who have won both the Junior and Youth Worlds have won a senior/elite World Championships yet.

He is Irish yeah he is flying at the minute current European senior champion at 81 kgs and only lost to Cubas great De La Cruz in the world semi finals, he also beat Russian Olympic Gold medalist Meckonshev a few months before Olympics.

Joe broke his hand during his first fight at the Youth Olympics unfortunatley.
