How does paul butler fight stuart hall before Randy Caballer

Paul Butler is a 15 fight fighter who is ranked 46 in the world. He get's a I.B.F. Title shot before the Mandatory who is Ranked 13 in the world and flew to Japan to earn the title shot! BS....

It does seem a bit off. Butler was ranked 11 by the IBF, but is due to feature in the top 10 of the April rankings. How long do the IBF give to defend the belt on a mandatory basis? Is it 6 months? Maybe Hall, who won the title in December, has to defend the title by mid June to avoid being stripped like McDonnell. Caballero only fought 2 weeks ago. A date in June might not have given him enough time to prepare properly for the fight. Will be interesting to see what Caballero himself has to say.

I'm not trying to defend the fight, just trying to unravel the layers of boxing politics. Hopefully the winner of Hall Vs. Butler must face Caballero. I fancy Butler to prevail over Hall. Caballero Vs. Butler would be a great scrap.

My understanding is Caballero is ready for June 7th. He will be on the bunce boxing hour on Tuesday in the U.K. Let see what he says cause the other camps are side stepping.

Having been in touch with a number of Randy's team they are very classy folk.

Edit-That of course may not be for all of them, but the ones I've been in touch with have been very decent

Cheers. Good match up. My first thought was the title will change hands, but Hall is going to put Butler under a lot of pressure from start to finish, it'll be interesting to see if he can cope.

What are the IBFs rules around making a defence against the winner of an eliminator ? I am assuming Hall has to defend against Caballer within a six month period of Caballer winning his eliminator (April to October) ?

Hall has allegedly been sanctioned by the IBF to squeeze in Butler before his mandatory, so the winner should be facing Caballero around September.
