specialist boxing physios - arm injury in london or m25 ?

Hi

Just wondering if anyone knows "anyone" who is tops with forearm/wrist injuries? - no jokes please.

I have seen lots of physios, sports massage, accupuncture etc. etc. and it's just an injury that keeps reoccuring.

I can do all movements with the arm, but no "pressing" or "punching" in a nutshell as it will aggravate it more.

Logically forearm/wrist injuries would be quite common in boxing?

So any ideas/tips?

Look for guys who deal with motorcyclists and cyclists too. Both those sports/pastimes result in plenty of participants smashing up their wrists and forearms.

dont want to make you feel worse mate but i had a problem with my wrist but only felt pain when punching. Went through everything with the hospital including Physios, Operations even injected dye into my wrist to see if everything was flowing ok through that region. After all of this the pain was still there and i was told there was nothing else they could do and that i would not be able to box again. That was 18 months ago now and i am just getting back into punching bags but will not be able to compete again as some punches i just cant do like screw shots and uppercuts.

I'm guessing it's a problem with the bone because you can still move the arm, but struggle with putting weight through it. Best thing to do would be to see a specialist surgeon or go the hospital and get an x-ray done, physio probably won't do it. It could be that you need some bone removing because it's pushing against other bones, or you need bone adding in to strengthen it, whatever the problem is, it will probably need surgery.

it's not a bone injury - don't want to knock anyone - have seem some of the best physio/sport masseue's etc. etc.

They can "iron out " tightness in my forearm/wrist but then it reoccurs, and can't do press ups or bench really anymore - I can but
it will "aggravate it".

The strange thing also is it's in my stronger hand that I have the problem - then again I probably do more things with that hand than the other..

Anyway logically I am thinking that a boxer will put his forearm and wrists through a lot of grief - appreciate their
arms will be conditioned to "punching".

Any pro's on here who have had problems??

If your anywhere near central london, there's a physio in the same building as my gym, Octupus clinic, they handle all our boxers injuries with great success!, even my own injury after landing on my shoulder comming off my motorbike, could only do pads 1 handed which isn't great when it's your living, four sessions later, I had full movement and could work properly again!, gyms in Fleet Street I can put you in touch?

There's a old guy on Queen Mary Street, just off Harley Street in London who is a hand/wrist specialist, Dean Powell put me in touch with him before for one of my fighters, he's a top specialist.

IMO though the best I have dealt with is a guy called Mike Hayton who I regularly deal with, he treats loads of man united, man city, Liverpool and loads of other premiership footballers, top speedway racers, jockeys, etc, he also has operated on Jaime Cox, Billy joe Saunders, dealt with Bellew, Selkirk, the list is endless really, he is based in the north west, not far from Manchester.

I was in Manchester last weekend dam ! I can pop up to london live about 25 miles south of the city. As we all know recommendation word of mouth etc. There are a lot of physios etc.out there but u need to find the ones who deal with injuries rrelevant to you.appreciate the recommendations.how much too see Mr harley street ? I paid him £260 for a consultation & cortisone injection in the wrist, most charge a lot and work on fixed price which is a lot more expensive if it's through your private insurance and through a claim but discount it quite a lot if your a private case and paying yourself, there prices then are cheaper and varied, but not by loads.

Anyone know someone who can sort out chest injuries in London? Fell down the stairs a couple of weeks ago, been x-rayed, no breaks, but it's painful all the time, and I sneezed tonight, the most painful thing I've ever done, I think, and I've had broken nose, arms , collar bones, ankles, loads but that sneeze was fecking agony.

There's four at octopus, I was treated by Lucy, but there all as good, Lucy's background is sking so is well versed with sports injuries, I think it's around 130 per hour, but, it's mainly half hour sessions, I had if I remember 5 sessions in total but I had full movement and was relatively pain free from the second session and could start doing pads with both hands again, totally fine now, also, there covers by the likes of bupa etc, if that is you with private health insurance, lots of my boxers have used them with great results in a couple of sessions, mention my name when you call, eugene from the noble art boxing you might get a reduction , and pop down to the basement for a chat,
