Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
Same drill as the Fight of the Week poll. Poll will run for 4 days, and after that the KO with the most votes will receive the first KO of the Week award. Good luck to the nominees.
Re: Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
Personally my vote goes to Eder Jofre KO 13 Joe Lynch, as he dominated Lynch throughout, and Lynch was the most high profile of all the KO victims this week.
Let's see how this one shakes out over the next 4 days.

Re: Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
I'm Voting for Israel Vazquez TKO over Kid Wiliams.

Alright then. So that's 1 vote for that as well.Fist of Legend wrote:I'm Voting for Israel Vazquez TKO over Kid Wiliams.

2 for Vazquez vs Williams then.DMA1987 wrote:X2Fist of Legend wrote:I'm Voting for Israel Vazquez TKO over Kid Wiliams.
Re: Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
Jeff Fenech's allowing Al to foul himself out in a face saving generous act of kindness surely qualifies.
Otherwise....it was comin', and in a big way.

A DQ win is not eligible for a KO of the Week award.BoxBuzz wrote:Jeff Fenech's allowing Al to foul himself out in a face saving generous act of kindness surely qualifies.

the fight was dead even pretty much and then Vazquez started swelling up from a punch and hes known to get stopped with cuts so he turned it up in the next 2 rounds and got the stoppage in a fight he was probably the underdog going into. just thought i would give some insight into my choice.
Re: Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
Yup, I vote for the Vazquez v Williams fight too, great fight. It was close all the way up to the stoppage.
Re: Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
Well that is inherently unfair, it denies the inevitable.gilgamesh wrote:A DQ win is not eligible for a KO of the Week award.BoxBuzz wrote:Jeff Fenech's allowing Al to foul himself out in a face saving generous act of kindness surely qualifies.

Re: Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
Ok so that's 3 confirmed for Vazquez vs Williams. I assume one of the "Other" votes is Buzz nominated his ineligible DQ win. I don't know what the 5th "Other" vote was for.'Frilla wrote:Yup, I vote for the Vazquez v Williams fight too, great fight. It was close all the way up to the stoppage.
Somebody's gonna have to make that clear or it won't count.
Re: Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
A DQ is not a KO. That's all there is to it. Never has a DQ win won the Ring Magazine "Knockout of the Year" award, and never will a DQ win the Sim "KO of the Week" award either.BoxBuzz wrote:

You're right, that's exactly what the DQ did.BoxBuzz wrote:Well that is inherently unfair, it denies the inevitable.gilgamesh wrote:A DQ win is not eligible for a KO of the Week award.BoxBuzz wrote:Jeff Fenech's allowing Al to foul himself out in a face saving generous act of kindness surely qualifies.

Well it's time to think outside "The Ring". And stop standing in the way of progress.
Re: Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
Eder Jofre KO 13 Joe Lynch
Re: Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
Considering DQ's , KO's would be Regressing not Progressing.BoxBuzz wrote:gilgamesh wrote:A DQ is not a KO. That's all there is to it. Never has a DQ win won the Ring Magazine "Knockout of the Year" award, and never will a DQ win the Sim "KO of the Week" award either.BoxBuzz wrote:

Re: Week 15 KO of the Week nominees
IN this case one fighter so intimidated the other, that the loser simply fouled out rather than face the inevitable.
Sort of like one of your fighters giving ours the nod of "no mas" just a nanosecond after the bell rings.
But we will never embarrass you in such a way. Why? Because you are very well regarded, and we don't want the hate mail.
