Floyd Mayweather to get beat on points

Post by mullenman »

he is the best boxer on the planet but what is the chance of an upset on saturday night

the only boxer floyd has knocked out in the last ten years is Ricky Hatton as i dont count the
cheap shot at Ortiz as a real knockout

madaina who probably wont get knocked out, has a chance of beating floyd 115:113 on work rate alone

Floyd will get old in a fight soon as everybody does

big outside chance i know but nobody taught madaina would beat broner or manchester united finishing 7th in the premier league

I cant see this being anything other than your bog standard Mayweather landslide points win TBH,i am looking forward to it as Maidana's coming off a career best win and performance but Floyd and Broner are 2 totally different prospects all together, saying that i thought Marcos had little chance of beaten Adrien so......but nah Money points all the way for me

Maidana is made for Mayweather. Should be the typical 12-0/11-1/10-2 Floyd fight.

Theres a reason United finished 7th and Maidana beat Broner.

There's nothing at all to suggest that the Argentine will win a single round against Mayweather.

Easy win for Mayweather. Maybe even a rare KO for him.

No chance he KO's Chino. I agree though, easy nights work for Mayweather. Maidana will struggle to land a shot, never-mind win the fight on points.

Age is nothing but a number. He's showed no decline at all in recent fights.

You could argue that the only person who really went at Mayweather in the last 8 (not quite ten, mate) years was Hatton.

Floyd is a master counter-puncher so an opponent coming at him plays right into his hands & forces him to step it up.

Otherwise he's just content to play it safe & go for a safety first UD.

Maidana's only hope is to steam into Mayweather which could be playing into Floyds hands & bring out the best of him.

I'm not saying this is what I think will happen, it's just a counter-argument to your original post.

Body shots will do for Maidana.

Floyd hasn't looked even nearly old lately. He took on a 'serious' contender in Alvarez and made him look amatuer. Maidana doesnt touch Floyd

On the other hand, Maidana won't be weakened by weight stipulations. As was Alvarez.

Floyd should win easily on points but Maidana has a punchers chance.

Maidana just too wild. I think he might get stopped here - floyd is by far the most accurate boxer he's faced and Broner had some success but lacked any pop (not surprising as he looked a weight class smaller than Marcos).

I'd be surprised if Maidana lands more than a handful of shots throughout the entire fight, he's made for Mayweather.

Maidana may not be 'weakened' by weight restrictions but I can guaruntee that he will still enter the ring weighing less than Alvarez did in fight night.

Mayweather will win by a landslide!

Maidana is too slow (as a top level fighter). Mayweather landslide... and I doubt he'll take more than a couple of glancing blows over the entire 12 rounds.

I would love it to go the other way, but just can't see it.

Plus he's barely been hit his whole career. If he wanted to, he could probably do a Hopkins.

And the rare times he has, he has shown he has one of the sturdiest beards going. Mosely hits like a mule and caught him with as good a shot as any and Floyd just sucked it up (somehow)

Rewatched Broner Maidana last night.

Convinced me more that this is going to be a landslide points win for Floyd.

I think Maidana might have some success in the early stages until Floyd adjusts his timing. I dont think he will land many clean but can see him possibly backing mayweather up on to the ropes, missing wildly whilst also hitting his shoulders and gloves for short bursts. Then Mayweather will figure him out and start catching him on the way in as he begins his attacks. Maidana will eat left hooks and counter right crosses all night from that point onwards.

Jesus guys, Alexander took Maidana apart so what do you think Mayweather's going to do to him? If he actually gets punched clean on the face more than 3 times I'll be surprised. Mayweather is arguably having the best period of his career and this will be a one sided destruction.

Also the assumption Maidana will be the stronger guy is false I'd wager. Mayweather pretty much stood right in front of Cotto and Alvarez and wasn't pushed back at all.

Floyd pts at 4/6 is just about the most reliable bet out there.

Mayweather via shut-out or even by stoppage, if he targets Maidana to the body.
