Not to the extent that Khan throws them out. He's always got an excuse. After the Diaz fight he complained that making 140 was killing him and he should of moved up to 147 years ago. This despite the fact that he insisted on the the weight for that fight being 143 lbs.Counter-puncher wrote:probably roughly the same as the odds on any other fighter finding excuses after they lose.columbo wrote:What's the odds on Khan blaming (if he does lose) the loss on Hunter, his wife's pregnancy, allah, Max Clifford's conviction, etc?
dunno if you noticed, but it's quite common, amongst fighters.

I fully expect Khan to win this on points. Will be interesting to see how dizzy the people making Collazo out to be odds on favourite will get after the fight with their u-turns?

Re: Khan-Collazo
Khan far too quick and skilful and, presuming he uses his brain, boxes his way to a unanimous decision; probably with the odd hairy moment along the way.
Re: Khan-Collazo
Surely if Collazo is a big favourite then surely Khan would deserve some credit for beating him? Unless there is some sort of mass change of opinion?Riddick Blowe wrote:On what basis do you expect u-turns?Lenny wrote:I fully expect Khan to win this on points. He's not a big favorite, he represents good betting value.Lenny wrote:Surely if Collazo is a big favourite then surely Khan would deserve some credit for beating him? On what basis do you think you are going to hold onto your money ? Re: Khan-Collazo
Collazo is getting overrated. I could see him beating Khan, but I think Khan on points is most likely.

Really? On what basis do you think I am Haroon? Just because someone does not agree with your point of view? Typical forum response from the egotistical ones.Riddick Blowe wrote:OK, Haroon. Re: Khan-Collazo
Collazo's a good fighter no doubt. But he's been around for ages (made his pro debut when Khan was 13!) and I think the Ortiz win is flattering him a bit. He hadn't looked that great prior to that. Khan should win this, and I expect him to. He might even get the TKO in the late rounds from volume alone.
Re: Khan-Collazo
I agree that the Ortiz win flatters Collazo but it will have done his confidence the world of good. He may not be elite but he's a good solid Welter who is active, on a winning streak and coming off a confidence boosting win. Although Khan has done very well against boxers and southpaws in the past, I feel he may have already peaked and in his last two bouts he looked like a fighter who is either on the decline or at the very least not showing any improvements under his new trainer. His fragile chin has looked even worse since the Garcia defeat. Collazo may not be a puncher but I'm sure he hits hard enough to hurt Khan. Khan says the break has done him good, but to me an inactive fighter with a shaky chin moving up a weight division against a bigger man with momentum behind him is a recipe for disaster.
For the record, I have staked £1,200 on Collazo to win at varying levels from 7/2 down to 11/4. I'm not saying it's guaranteed money and I know it's not impossible that Khan could come out and box his way to an easy decision, but at the odds I think Collazo is as worthy a bet as I've seen. If Khan wins I'll be a bit disappointed but will have no regrets.

Not that flash and not a regular thing, I do like the odd punt in boxing but this is my largest ever by far. I really rate boxing as a great sport for betting on. The last decent bet I had was Kovalev by KO over Cleverly (couldn't believe Kovalev was bookies underdog in that fight) but have also had my fair share of losers over the years.
Re: Khan-Collazo
Yeah boxing is a strange one as they can often get it terribly wrong. Bute being favourite to beat Froch in Nottingham looks a crazy choice in hind sight.johnswan1 wrote:Not that flash and not a regular thing, I do like the odd punt in boxing but this is my largest ever by far. John, you need to get in the betting thread. Can't believe I haven't seen you post in there. Lots of solid tipsters posting. Insider, reggaereggae, Boxing Prospect, Hagler, GlobalBox...and more. lots of people who know their stuff.johnswan1 wrote:Not that flash and not a regular thing, I do like the odd punt in boxing but this is my largest ever by far. Re: Khan-Collazo
Khan will blow Collazo away. Collazo has been inactive over the years and Khan is desperate for a Mayweather showdown. Khan within 6 rounds.
