Froch vs Groves - Ringside

Groves routine is tired as f*ck, had zero impact.

It didn't really catch fire because Carl didn't bite once.

It was an interesting watch, and it's very clear to see Groves' tactic.

I thought about a week ago that Groves was talking too much and that was putting me off a bit.

However I now can see that all of it is so he can try and get under Froch's skin, I thought Froch handled it well but Groves nailed it when he said this is the fight for Froch (referencing the build up and the one on ones.)

If you asked me a month ago who I wanted to win it would have been Groves but I think Froch has handled himself impeccably and now all I want to see is a great fight with a conclusive result either way.

Seriously? Carl was twitching throughout, cracking his knuckles, looking around everywhere refusing eye contact at all opportunities and even the hand shake at the end breeded a sense of insecurity. At no stage of them interviews was Carl confident or comfortable in the environment and GG knew that. The desperation at the end from GG was more about the fact he wanted to humiliate him on live tv again and although he knew deep down he was destroying him mentally he couldnt help but go for the kill. All the things that Froch was doing were first class signs. For me everything GG said was spot on regarding the mentality of Froch for this fight.

I disagree. Carl is never going to be 100% confident in those situations because he doesnt like it, however, he was clearly in a lot better frame of mind than he was last time when all this kicked off.

Not so much smaller but he did look light actually! I know he's always close to the weight but he looked like he was either already on the weight or possibly a little under it. Like you say, hopefully he hasnt overtrained for this fight.

It's interesting you think that Jamie, because your perhaps the only person I've read that saw it that way.

The cameras were on Froch all the time, the questions - the whole show was focused on Carl and he paid his dues, answered every question honestly and was courteous to George.

Meanwhile George was trying to go fishing, looking for a bite - with his his 'Mandated' and 'Everything for a reason' - wow, it's just boring and played out to f*ck now and nobody is interested in it.

George was left hanging on a limb more than once. At one point he burst out into a forced, high-pitched squeal of laughter and Carl just did the 'cuckoo' motion with his hands.

It's getting boring from both sides now. Hard to really take to either man at the moment. Roll on the 31st as we won't have to hear all the same stuff and Johnny and Adam getting giddy over things like 'mind games' etc.

I dunno if handofstone was being sarcastic or not but I thought his suit looked good. The colour combos worked and it seemed well fitted. The only thing I'd be able to pick him up for is he needs to learn how to tie a proper double windsor knot.

Iv'e not actually seen Ringside tonight,just saw a snippet on SSN,it looked like his usual clobber but i agree the tie seems to just top it off,does he buy his gear off Del and Rodney?

George seems to be clutching at straws now with the 'mind games'. He just keeps on mentioning the same things over and over as though he's trying to convince himself. It almost seems as though that's all he's got to hold on to. His display on Ringside tonight won't be gaining him any more fans, where as Carl came across quite well.

Carl is never that great in front of camera, he seemed very edgy on the J.Ross show a year or so back, just how he is. George's attitude tonight seemed very petty, childish and big headed.

Groves is getting on my tits. Maybe it´s the southern thing, but his wind up attempts are annoying and boring.

Sadly I think he will win the fight, but I´d really like to see him take a proper shallacking to shut his mouth up afterwards. Seems to rub a lot of people up the wrong way.

I think a lot gets made about Carl looking uncomfy sitting next to George,it was the same first fight,i do think he doesnt look comfortable but that doesn't mean he's intimidated,it just mean's he hates sitting next to him and would rather be fighting him there and then IMO,I wouldn't feel right sitting next to someone i hate whether i was intimitated or not,doesn't mean I'm gonna scarper.......unless their quite a rather large chap
