Betting guide for tonight

Post by jomothepure »

After opening up at 4/7, all the money has been going on Harrison this past week, and yesterday's weigh-in has shifted it from 4/9 to 2/5 - 1/3 in a place.

Williams is a general 9/4, although the American firm Pinnacle give better odds than that.

Round betting is fairly decent, if that's your idea of a good time. Harrison win is generally around the 16/1 - 20/1 mark to win in the 6th to 12th round. Blue sq is the most generous for a late round stoppage.

Williams stoppages offers a blanket of 40/1 or 50/1. Take up skybet for the early rounds, Hills middle rounds, and blue square's 66/1 on an 11th or 12th round stoppage.

Points win for Harrison is best at 2/1 with bet365. Williams 13/2 with Willie Hills or Corals - although who was it who found 8/1 on this (sorry, I've forgotten)

The Skelton fight is extremely stingy, only 8/1 on a stoppage up to the 6th round.

[sarcasm] Amir Khan is huge value at 1/100 [/sarcasm] (Thorpe is 16/1 if anyone wants a couple of quid on him)

I don't think I'll have a bet myself. I'll lurk around the bookies until it shuts. If Danny goes out to 5/2 I'll take it, as I think, even weight and mental states taken into account, it will be a closer affair than that.

Hate to do this, as it's totally unsporting, but I may put a few quid on Soliman at the 7/1ish mark, and take a chance on the seriousness of Winky's illness (although if it's anything majorly imposing he shouldn't be fighting.

Cheers for the summary Jomo.

I'm going to do my bollocks on Kahn. 1/100 may be crap odds, but he's not going to get beat so it's free money!

You can get 3.8 (decimal) 14/5 fractional on wiliams at http://www.betfair.com.

That's almost 3/1 - I have had a punt...

I also found 28-1 for Mcdermott on points at William hill (now 22-1) that was way too high, though unlikely all the same!

Brave all the same. Betfair is offering 1.04 at the moment. 1.05 and it starts becoming pretty viable

This is smart play: stake 100 to win 1.
I suggest you go to http://www.betfair.com, click on Forum, click on General Betting, go to 10 dec,13.33 hours, there is a post from Plastic Paddies in the form of an invitation to other Forumites:
-Please list anything/team/person/horse that gets matched @ 1.01 en then gets beat-.
After some time at Betfair, I can assure you that it will be a long list.

But Sir, I hope you win your bet.
The opponent of Khan has a record of 65 fights/18win/45loss/2draw and 6KO.

You'd have to be fornicating mad to bet 1/100 on anything, let alone boxing - Khan could get a cut, or get disqualified....

My sentiments exactly. If you've got the hundred you certainly don't need the 1 that much.

Harrison on points was 10/3 with Gamebookers on Thursday night. I think Williams will get stopped but AH points looks the value given that it's 11/8 elsewhere.

Forgot about the cut/DQ aspect. I knew there was a reason why I tend not to bet on boxing much.

I still think that at this stage of Kahn's career not much is going to go wrong, particularly on a high profile card.

:-? :-? :-?

Well, I have filled my boots on Skelton at betfair, which is paying far better than any high street bookies. I am now shitting it to a sufficient extent that the bricks have liquified though.

Done a more modest pet on a Khan points win @2/1. Thorpe is pretty durable.

Couldn't bring myself to bet against the Audster though. Moan Ardross.

P.S. Dan - how much to bloody weathermen earn :-? :P :o

Not exactly too much to worry about in the end.

topper123 came up with the best bet of the day though

I would've taken Williams, but really wanted him a touch higher than 9/4. Ke sera sera. The Skelton win will do. There's always tomorrow to lose it on Pipe's crooked donkey's (the man makes Don King look like bambi, he really does.)

You should NEVER take odds of 1/100 on anything...ever.
