Iv'e not been on this site for ages and just wanted a few opinions on what is happening in the boxing world. What divisions are strong, who is up and coming etc etc ? I have come back primarily because of the Mayweather fight and have had a brief look at the divisions top ten boxers. It seems to me that the heavyweight scene is nearly dead. You have Wladimir still dominating the division, but there doesn't appear to be anyone of a similar ilk to take his place. The cruiserweight division never seems to capture anyone's imagination. The light heavyweight division still has the same names, ie, Hopkins, Dawson, Cloud etc. I noticed that Hopkins beat some guy recently to unify the division ? This doesn't seem to say an awful lot for the depth of quality. Super-middleweights still seem to have Ward at the top, with Froch and few other names still hanging around. I am quite looking forward to Froch - Groves II. Has Roy Jones and James Toney finally retired lol ? How about Mosley ? Audley Harrison too lol ?
What is happening in the middleweight division ? I pressume that Alvarez is dominating the light-middleweight division ? Anyone new to look out for in these divisions ? The light-welterweight and welterweight divisions seem to be where it's at right now. It seems that certain fighters are fluctuating between the two divisions. Danny Garcia looks good at 140lbs. Broner still looks and talks like a dick i see. Not sure how he can continue with the diamond encrusted teeth with the Maidana defeat hanging over him. There are plenty of names in those two divisions, Mayweather, Pacquaio, Khan, Maidana, Ortiz, Malignaggi, Rios, Garcia, Bradley, Alexander, Marquez, Judah etc etc. How good is this shawn Porter guy ? Apart from the obvious, who is doing well ? How do you guys see these two divisions ? What about the lower weights ? Bantamweight, lightweight etc ? I would be happy to get your views. I know i will never regain the same enthusism i once had for the sport, but i have been completely out of the loop as far as boxing is concerned. I haven't even watched any channel five boxing with DeGale, Eubanks jnr or Galahad. So i am just looking for a few pointers to get my directions once again lol.
Thanks.

Porter is a decent fighter, not at the same level as the other welters that were mentioned earlier. He is suppossd to fight Kell Brook next, should be a decent fight, if it happens.Quix wrote:Thanks for that Gaz...............
