A lot of inactive fighters, in 2006 would have been an accomplishment. 1 fighter is lucky to be the toughest in his house, let alone the world.
Still the best card I've ever seen in NZ.

Anthony Nansen has replaced Samuel peters. So two kiwis in it and one hasn't beaten anyone in 7 years and the other has never beaten an opponent who wasn't on debut. Disappointing.

At least with Nansen hes a popular fighter in NZ and has won the King of the Ring Kickboxing 8 man tournament just last year and I saw him win his most recent kickboxing fight only a month ago. So he's in shape and has been active Kick Boxing. As for Ritani-Coe hes an unknown really in NZ. His claim to fame is losing to Parker.

Looked at first like they were assembling a world class lineup and like most I thought Tua would be in there. But in the end they have filled the final places with nobodies.

I saw Tua at the fights on Thursday he was in monty filamea's corner, he's really piled on the pounds. I can't see him ever fighting again. As for the 2 kiwi boxers brought in as wild cards. There a joke, neither is even top ten in NZ. I think they was both brought in by the power of Facebook.

Hey all, new to this form ...

I seen a mainevent add yesterday with Hasim Rahman, I though the add was a pretty pis poor didn't really know what Rahman was mumbling on about.

Yep Tua has retired. You'd think Hasim Rahman would win it outright if he is fit because he has the class but he is no spring chicken and has only fought once since June 2011, so could be a bit 'ring rusty' perhaps. Meehan is a good puncher and has a good record so he and Alonzo Butler should progress easily enough through the first round. The tough one is probably the Sprott versus Rogan bout as both are not that flash but probably the most evenly matched on paper. Sprott has lost six of his last 10 fights and Rogan has lost five of his last 10 fights. If you take a line through Matt Skelton, who they have both fought, you'd think Rogan would win it though because he won by a TKO while Sprott lost on points in a split decision. Rahman for mine.

Bash, Like you, i thought the tournament was made for Tua, It would have suited him to the ground, even if not 100% fit, anyway I spoke with him in depth last week over there, I came away with the feeling he was not done.

So now it really is just a case of "watch this space" and today, I was told some good things that are happening, but sorry, i am sworn to secrecy.

So wait till the tournament is over, perhaps there will be an announcement???

But if the tournament does not happen, as predicted by the resident tosser Sevsek, then maybe an announcement won't be made, maybe it's all just a mirage and we are dreaming of an 8 man??
