Kevin Mitchell's opponent 31st may

Post by lefty »

Ghislain Maduma... remember the name, he's going to knock Mitchell out and I rate Kevin. This Maduma has no profile and has fought cans up to now but ive watched a few of his fights and the guy has talent. He seems very athletic, fast hands, moves well and hits pretty hard and he seems to have a good boxing brain. Il post a quick link to one of his fights. Let me know what you think of him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mopQkS8N1m0

Been saying on other places that Maduma is being criminally over-looked and I think a lot of people are sleeping on him

Cheers mate. I think he's gonna be a real handful. I dont know what the guys chin is like which could be a factor but I cant see any listed knock downs on his side so far in his career so i'd imagine it's not bad.

Definitely not as impressed as some on here. Sure he has fast hands but his punches aren't very technically correct (too wide), he puts his chin the air and hands low when let the combinations rip and has fought absolutely no-one of note.

Didn't watch the whole fight, but from what I saw he fights at a pretty slow pace, which should suit Mitchell, at times Maduma's lazy with the jab and doesn't bring it back quickly enough. His punches are quite wide and he slaps with them a bit, brings his hands back low at times and looks to be a bit flat footed. Maduma looks decent and it won't be a walk in the park for Mitchell, but for me he really should be winning the fight, style wise he matches up to Maduma pretty well.

Just what I was thinking. We can all look good against low rate fighters but how would this guy box against a good live fighter? Mitchell will be the best fighter he has faced and will he be able to box against him like he has his past opponents? I think not. Look at what everyone was sayiing about Prescott after he KO'd Khan. Mitchell ended up giving Prescott a boxing lesson.

In fairness few were that high on Prescott by the time he fought Mitchell. "Titere" had laid the blue print on how to beat him.
