It is written by Ferdie Percheco.
Check out the cover.
Looks like from his facial expression,Ali may have gotten just a little tast of what the Rock's'Suzy Q'
may have actually felt like,if the Rock didn't pull his punches and was 15 years younger.
Couldnt be 1913.... the "Super Fight" happened in 1969, and both Ali and Marciano were born long after 1913.... dont you mean 1993?

Didn't Ali keep trying to knock off Marciano's hair piece?

Affirmative on the hair piece. I think Ali has stated that the Rock got his attention when he got fed up with it, and landed with intent. To the point that it got Ali's respect, and culminated in less toupee tampering or wig wacking....whichever you choice of words.

There were so many rumors, stories and legends surrounding the filming of the "Super Fight", its hard to say which is truth and which is fiction. One story says, Ali kept knocking Marciano's wig off, to which Marciano hit Ali so hard he doubled the champ over and filming was stopped. Another story, goes along the lines that Marciano sucker punched Ali in filming and Ali doubled over and dropped. Another story, is that Marciano got fed up and challened Ali on the spot to a real fight right then and there and filming had to be stopped and both parties apologised.

The only things that are certain, confirmed by all parties involved, is that Ali took two weeks off to "heal", because he had tremendous bruises and welts on his body from Marciano's punches and that he requested a couple extra dollars in order to finish filming--- that there was a company production dinner, and Ali and Rocky joked about how rough it was getting in there, to which Ali lifted his shirt and everyone could see the bruises. Both men, in the end, admired eachother greatly and called eachother 'champ', and Marciano and Ali both appeared on the Dick Cavett show at different times and talked about the film (before Marciano died in the plane crash).

Personally, the only 'evidence' I've seen from that proves that it is true, is if one looks at the SUPERFIGHT from beginning to end--- it is in round nine or ten, that one sees a temporarily bald Marciano in the ring--- and in the next second he's no longer bald. One also sees that 'intent' changes from there on out--- rounds one through eight, were essentially scripted and playful--- but from that moment, when Marciano was bald for maybe a frame or two, intentions were different. The punches come harder, the pace picks up, and even Ali throws lightning fast hooks in Marciano's direction, which were blocked by Marciano's forearms and gloves.

Regardless, whatever the truth is, the near 46 year old Marciano left quite the impression on Ali. Years later, in a sit down interview with Howard Cosell (late 70's), they were duscussing Ali's chances against the all-time greats, and Ali said he would beat them all--- that is, until Marciano's name came up, and down came the 'act' of being high and mighty, out went the bravado, and out went the lines and rhymes. Ali said of any heavyweight in history, it would of been Marciano to of been his greatest threat, because (as Ali put it) "he was greater than Joe Frazier."
