Any examples of relatives fighting each other in pro ranks?

Post by jeej »

Was just wondering if there are any good examples of brothers (or even cousins) fighting one another in the pro ranks at all?

Obviously I know the Klitschkos vowed to never do it.

Harry Duiven Jnr and Snr. Father and son. Snr was a last minute sub, hugely over-weight and complained of an early stoppage.

Convenience. Jnr's opponent pulled out and his dad stepped in to give him a fight. Google "Harry Duiven Snr" for a photo.

I believe Clinton Mckenzie and Loyld Christie were cousins and boxed each other for the British title.

Katsuaki Eguchi vs Kusuo Eguchi, brothers that fought for the Japanese minimum weight title. Kusuo won in the 6th round.

I don't think the Fury's would have any problem sharing the ring if it was for a world title.

Why? They are much closer than most families so it would be even more unlikely.

"An All Traveler HW Championship OTW Fight"

You think they would miss that boat then? Not a chance I think. There are one or two on here that can put us right on matters of the caravan dwellers...
