Every boxing group or forum I'm apart of seem to remember Tua much different than I do . Frazier wins this comfortably.

They both hit so hard with it, tough call. Joe's is faster though and he had endless energy unlike the Tuaman so therefore Joe wears him down on a points victory.

Tua is right there with Cooney as the most overrated guys in mythical match ups at heavyweight. Not counting the mighty Klitschko's who would dominate anyone just because they're big.

I agree with your winner, but definitely not for your reason. I think Tua arguably hits harder than Frazier and also has arguably the better chin. It's just that Frazier is better in every other possible way, so I see him stopping Tua late or winning a lopsided decision.

Off logic going on here, Tua has never been stopped so regardless of great/shyte eras I don't buy Frazier stops him at all.
He wins yes on a UD but that's all.

But Tua has also never fought a 15 rounder. Those last three rounds versus Smokin' Joe would be death - particularly after being tenderized over the previous twelve.

There's a point there I suppose but a prime Tua could still do another 3 I'd say. Taking the Ike fight into consideration , he would have carried on and that's also considering how full on that fight was.

Agreed, it was obviously world class but I never saw him do anything that leads me to believe Frazier couldn't hurt him with a couple hundred hooks. I'm also not sold on his murderous power. Again, world class but guys like maskaev and rahman ate plenty of those bombs that lead people to give him a puncher's chance against much higher level fighters.

Tua has about a 5% chance of landing something big enough early that could swing things his way...

I see Tua having a good couple of rounds...stunning Joe a few times. Then Frazier slowly takes over... By about round 8 or 9 Tua will make a stand...giving us a couple of competitive fight of the year rounds before he fades and Frazier either gets him late by accumulation or takes a clear victory.

Look at the situation it happened after the bell but Tua was still swinging . It's not like the bell rang and his chin suddenly got worse. Though I do believe fatigue played a part in it and if Rahman can wear you out then no doubt Frazier can.

It was a jab right at the bell, Tua certainly hit rahman after the bell in the first fight. Rock owned him.

Was either man more prone to getting tagged by left hooks than the other? that might be a good question. Not sure how many good left hookers either guy has fought, and if they both have great hooks with one of them having greater success at landing it, it could be a factor. Frazier was an elite level all time great. David Tua was a contender at best, and not a very good one. His chin was battle tested though as was his power. Joe gets my vote for a decision, but it might not be as one sided as some have surmised.

Tua could get outboxed but I don't seem him getting knocked out by Joe.
Even past his prime, Tua has still never been knocked out as a pro, and has been in the ring with some big punchers in his time (Lennox, Ibeabuchi, Rahman)
