I always wondered what would have happened if the Woodhouse thing had gone differently. If the guy had got his mates in because he thought a pro boxer was coming to do him, or decided to get tooled up, or even just stood his ground, it could have gone badly.

We all know Curtis has previous for violent offences. A defence of 'he said I wasn't a very good boxer your honour' would be unlikely to cut the mustard.

There is a difference between what we would like to happen, and what is better off happening. Boxers get real time for hitting people who aren't up to their level.

I think people are looking too much into a bit much. This isn't a Curtis Woodhouse situation, it seems the Zelanoff has been abusing Wilder online and came to Wilder's camp gloved up and wanted to smack him. Okay we can talk about how one is on the verge of fighting for a world title and the other is some deranged idiot, but I think Wilder did the smart thing by watching he was infront of him and not taking a cheap shot from behind. We would never hear the end of it if Zelanoff caught him with one shot.

Yes Wilder is wild and novicy at times in the ring, but lets give some credit he is an Olympic Bronze Medalist..... he knows what he is doing - if he wanted to he could have killed Zelanoff - but he spent most of it talking. I think the last part where he just runs at Zelanoff and Zelanoff runs away highlights how seriously Wilder was taking it.

Okay fair enough he could have done what Klitchsko did when Briggs came to town - but Wlad's worked with Shannon before and he knew Shannon wasn't going to risk his pro licence by doing something completely out of order. It was arranged before hand. That wasnt Wilder's gym. It was in LA. Wilder flew out especially or was out in LA for some reason.

Wilder tossed one of his own cameramen/entourage like a rag doll, because even they had the common sense to try and keep Wilder away from the kid. He was more than pissed, and I can only think what would of happened--- had it just been Wilder and Zelenoff there, and no one else.

There are some genuinely disturbed people out there, maybe this guy is one I don't know I'm not a psychiatrist, but it seems in more general terms people want to put a label on everything as some sort of reason or excuse for downright scummy behaviour - can we not just see that sometimes these people actually need a lesson and need dealing with?

Apparently he paid a mexican immigrant USD 50 to take a dive in a spar that was filmed. He actually has some speed when he starts throwing, but no technique to speak off at all.

Na I get what you mean about people who abuse people over the internet and threaten, etc, but Zelenoff is seriously mentally ill.
