chris isaak,golden gloves champion ????

i was recently watching a chat show on tv and chris isaak the singer was being interviewd and he said he was a former golden gloves champion. i have looked on various sites on him and just said he was a former amateur boxer. does anybody have any info on his career ? thanx guys :TU:

Isaak attended college at the University of the Pacific in Stockton. Outside of his academic studies, he spent much of his time training at a boxing gym and fighting as a light heavyweight. Isaak later spent some time in Japan as an exchange student, and it was there that he first considered a career in music. Graduating in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in English and communications, Isaak moved to San Francisco.

In state Golden Gloves you only have to win two fights at novice vs other beginners to get gold . . I wouldn't consider that wholly implausible.

Its not hard at all to win a novice Regional Golden Gloves championship. Becoming a National Golden Glove Champion is much different story
