Mandatory Note: It's WBO Mando week.
The highest ranked contender is Terry McGovern.

Further Note: Remember this will be happening every week, mandos will rotate between the four titles - there aint gonna be no "easy" options this time round. And it will make unification's that much more difficult to achieve.

So Panama Al and McGovern go again? It didnt need to be mandated the first time, and it doesn't need to be this time.

Look forward to round 2.

A lot of the fighters are in the Prize Fighter tourney this week. So Jeff Chandler will offer a WTF Title Fight to the following available fighters.

Joe Lynch (we can settle that draw from a few weeks back)
Kid Williams
Johnny Coulon

Any of you 3 interested in taking the fight just say the word. The first to accept the challenge will get the fight with Chandler.

QUICK CLARIFICATION ON THE CONFUSION:

There has been some miscommunication here. Mostly it comes down to me copy and pasting this: "Must defend his title against a fighter in the top 20" in the original post of every Match up thread for the past five weeks.

The truth is - it's still the top 14!
(as can be seen whenever I put up the title eligibility rules, having worked out who is eligible form the previous weeks results)

Anyway, I think that we could all do with a quick recap as to how this confusion came about:

In Week 14 Eder Jofre was not able to get a challenger for his WBO Title, so The Office of the Commish give him special dispensation to fight a CPU opponent that week in a non-title defence.

In Week 15 we had to expand the title eligibility rules so that Jofre could defend his World title. However, Week 15 was the only week that this was necessary.

In week 16 and since then - we have reverted back to normal and all the belts were fought for by fighters in the top 14 (to the credit of the negotiating skills of the Managers).

Now here is where things stand:

Jimmy Barry has agreed to defend his title against Fighting Harada - currently ranked 17th (so normally he wouldn't be eligible for a World title shot). But seeing as the miscommunication which caused the confusion was my fault, I am willing to all this fight to go ahead as World Title defence.

And, in there interests of consistency, I will allow the other World Champions to defend against top 20 opposition for this week only.

But continuing next week - and until the end of the season - we are remaining the top 14.
:TU:

As for the Prizefighter, it stays as it is.

Fighting Harada drops the IBO Title and the unsigned fighters who are offered the vacant title fight are by order of ranking:

15. Ruben Olivares - entered Prizefighter.
16. Carlos Zarate - entered Prizefighter.
17. Fighting Harada - Fighting for a World Title.
18. Wilfredo Vazquez - Fighting Nonito Donaire.
19. Manuel Ortiz
20. Israel Vazquez - entered Prizefighter.
21. Jimmy Carruthers
22. Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym

(the following fighters in red have already singed for fights this week)

So - Ortiz vs Carruthers get first refusal for the IBO Title.

Get ready for the lowest rated fighter to snatch a World Title in Sim History. Harada is going to eat Barry up.

Crease I'm not sure if McGovern would be eligible for a title shot or not seeing as how he's coming off of a draw, not a win. Even though he is the mandatory. So are you fighting Panama Al or is Erik Morales vs McGovern this week?

Morales needs to know, as if it's not you then we must be looking elsewhere for our fight this week.

Nonsense, the governing body of the sim does not make errors, They say top 20, it's top 20........ You as an independent training camp, can't just go willy nilly changing the rules on a personal whim.

Now get back at he end of the line, and wait your turn. And quit trying to captain a hostile takeover.

shhheeessh..... some people will do anything to goof with the rules.
