English ABA championships 2014

The Quarters,Semis and finals take place in Liverpool starting tonight finishing on Sunday.This will be a basis for Commonwealth Games selection

Watched the finals on sky recently wasn't very impressed with the current crop

I think on the face of it I would agree the current champions are not that special but I prefer to look at the bigger picture.If we look at the Commonwealths only Joe Joyce and Anthony Fowler are favourites for gold.Sam Maxwell could win but there isnt much between him and Josh Taylor.However looking forward to 2016 and beyond there are reasons to be optimistic.Muhammad Ali and Peter Mcgrail medalled at the World youths as did Oliver Simpson and Josh Kelly two years earlier.Ryan Garner and Vidal Riley are also good prospects
The McCormack twins and the likes of Ted Cheeseman are also worth watching.They are great prospects.
