extra padding!!

Post by TheGman »

I thought paul smith was on the verge of a world title shot. Why does he need more padding to his over padded record?

I'll p*ss myself mightily if he loses on Saturday.

Sad days when a win over Tommy Tolan (Doorman) and Tony Dodson (how many title fights have you lost now Tony?) gets you a 'world' title fight.

That said I'll watch it all the same just to see 'Smigga' get another beating (as he always does when he steps up a level)

If (when) he loses to Abraham he can always go for Steve Bendall:

1. Possible revenge for a previous loss.

2. The WBU (German Version) Middleweight 'title'
Its a joke to be honest, callum is more deserving of a world title shot than paul. Wenever smigga steps up a level he fails massively. I agree he should go back to middleweight but even then he would be about 8th best in britain.

I don't mind the guy but if you look at his opposition, I really don't know why he insists he is world class and gets upset at people who disagree. Groves and DeGale are the only good names on his record and they both dealt with him with ease.

Paul Smith has been kidding the public for over a decade.

11 years a pro, it was only last week that he and Eddie were trying to kid the board that Tobias Webb is good enough to challenge his British title - when that was kyboshed Webb is now boxing his kid brother who has be a pro for 5 minutes.

He has had more "gimme" fights than any other boxer I can think of.

To be fair, you have to almost admire Smith's Brittass-esque self confidence - who else would think that beating Jamie Ambler and now facing a bloke who has won 7 from 12 should result in a World title shot.

If Smith gets world title shot it will be the biggest travesty of justice in British boxing this century ! (probably slightly exaggerating, but not far off).

I don't think it would be worse than Ward getting a world title shot, but I broadly agree with your points.

I only wonder what those around Smith tell him when he's banging on about fighting for a world title.

I had to read it twice before I realized he was probably talking about Martin. Given the talk of 168 pound fighters, I was like WTF is this guy talking about Paul Smith being more deserving than Andre Ward?!?

To be honest, I think a shop worn Abraham would still probably chin Smith.

Yeah, but it wasn't Purdy's fault he got offered the fight - it was the situation with the IBF International titles.

He was also on a hiding to nothing.

Smith drones on like he is being overlooked after beating all-comers, which isn't the case.

Hopefully Abraham batters him & he fucks off for good after it the miserable twat. I've seen a fair amount of his fights and the only one he's looked any good in was the re-match against a shot Dodson who was never that good to begin with.

As the fight will no doubt be in Germany, it'll also be on BN not Sky given the deal BN have with Sauerland, that will make him more grumpy too.

Come on folks, lets be fair. Paul Smith is world class, loves his gran, has done all he should have to do and will beat Abraham. We should be getting behind a British fighter for having ambition to fight such a dangerous foe! In fact we should all be in twitter trying to get this fight made, sending Abraham e-mails (in German) telling him to fight Smith, it's only fair Smith gets his world title opportunity as he's so much better than British and European class fighters!
