However lets just make it clear that everything imaginable is being done by the UK side of this so please all you Brook haters I hope you dish out a healthy serving to Porter if there are any ghosts in the machine.
The fight has to take place by 19/7.
However if agreement is reached then the IBF will apply a little flexibility on the date - as they did with 31/5.
Missing the deadline has an air of inevitability about it though doesnt it.

I think Brook is jinxed, all involved have known the score for months and months. I imagined there was a reasonably straightforward procedure to follow?

Could a unification bout supersede the mandatory though?

I'd be astonished if the IBF agreed. Read their rule book.

Who is he going to unify against ?? Only other champions are Floyd and Manny and neither will happen next.

Sick of this messing about with Kell really keen to see this fight announced

I dunno I was wondering if Maybe Floyd vacates a belt particularily the WBA belt and Thurman holds the interim strap.

At the risk of sounding a bit simple if Eddie wants this to happen he should make Porter an offer he cannot refuse. Fwank did it with Tszyu and McCall, to name but two, to get his fighters home advantage for a world title challenge. There may have to be a lot of zero's on the paycheck but this is an emerging star / unbeaten world champ. If you want home advantage, pay what's needed and get it.

Agreed. It'll be interesting or see what happens, if Porter doesn't want to travel they'll have to pay for it, hope SKY do throw a lot at it.

Mickey, think Taylor Froch was shown on the Sunday night same day as the fight for us. Shocking they couldn't get tv for that, Froch would have been a bigger fighter with the public had that been on live at a reasonable hour.

You must all be barking up the wrong tree. Horse told us that Brook would pullout of this fight and that he definitely was not a troll.

Will be tough over there though. I could be wrong of course but Kell strikes me as a guy that is a lot more confident and so on in his own surroundings ie fighting in front of his own fans. I'm not sure how he'll perform in the states with a somewhat possibly hostile or atleast indifferent crowd.

fornicate me columbo if your fighting for a world title after waiting as long as Kell has you will take it on the moon.
It was gonna be Atlantic city before if Barker can go and do it Brook can he has fought in the states admittedly on a small bill against a no mark but the best thing is for it to be in America.IMO
Full training camp abroad in preparation he will have to do a number on Porter WHICH I BELEIVE HE IS CAPABLE OF DOING.
Ironically you get much more exposure from going and getting a title in the US and bringing it home in the British press.
Which Kell badly needs to build any future Khan fight into a block buster.
Judges and refs aside America and Porter should not faze him I bet he is getting a bit used to the motor point a change is as good as a rest mate.

That wasnt meant as a diss mate. You know what I mean though, some fighters really thrive on being on the road and fighting away from home and it doesnt faze them and others let the pressure and expectation get to them somewhat.

I know pal its time Kell got the chance to prove he can do it on the big stage he will thrive on the attention and lap up the limelight.

Lol believe it or not, even though I criticise him for the opposition up to now I do rate him in terms of skills. That's why it bugs me actually because I know that he is good. He's certainly a far better boxer than Porter is. It's just about whether he can deal with the rough house tactics.

Have you ever considered that because he's so good is one of the reasons he's been in the "who needs him" catagory.
Will be tough over there - no shit Columbo ! that was better work than your namesake !

IBF have again shown there ruthless side and they do stick by there rules with the hall ruling today. Hearn needs to make Porter a decent take it to leave it offer then pursue the IBF to strip him if he refuses it

No, that does not stand up as Brook has had his opportunities. This is another one........

Are you named after the greatest or McCOIST.
I suspect the latter as you talk shite and are from north of the border.
Brook has been proven injured and missed his chance now he is mandatory again as you need to be these days to get the opportunities and looks to being lumped in that category.
Porters team seem to be looking to avoid Brook for financial reasons.
If it was a piece of piss fight for Porter they would get it made beat him and move on for whatever they had too.
As it stands no fights made and Porters dad is making all the right noises to prove Parson Cross original post a viable one.

But porter is now sounding off he will not come to the UK (well his dad is sounding this off anyway)

Nobody knew or cared before he fought Alexander and now he is being a primadonna , saying it must be in the US.

I think Schaeffer ruled out it being on the Canelo undercard.

I sense porter will pull out injured if the sky machine put some big digits in a UK offer and win this. Poor form for a champion if he does so.

I wonder if he drops the IBF and sniffs around the WBA belt dropped by Maidana?

Thinking beyond Froch Groves, the best fight these shores have lined up is Brook vs Khan or Brook vs Porter. I hope the Wembley show injects some sky funds into offers no opponent can refuse.

Can Brook Khan fill a stadium too ?
I doubt it fills a stadium ever really Froch Groves 1 wouldn't have IMO.
But a tasty rematch always puts bums on seats.
Froch has a bigger following than Khan and is quality value takes and gives a great shot.
Khan has shown that style cant work for him and the masses want to see a trade fight.
Groves following is growing because of his style.
In comparison Brooks and it pains me to say it at this stage is max 9000.
Given you around 55000 to make it worth while it will struggle unless its really built Kell needs a title for this to be really big.
Not sure on that Froch didn't have a massive following as such before the hype machine of sky went massive on the kessler and groves fights. Even under Hearn I remember Bute fight not completely selling out 9000 until the day. (I had to let a ticket go at a loss now I've got loads of people asking me if I can get them tickets for Wembley)
True, if I remember Froch was booed by the majority of the crowd against Groves at the end, hardly fans and that was more his side of the country, then London will be. Khan has a big british support, otherwise America would not touch, they need the viewers from Sky and allegedly.

All the IBF proved in the Hall case once again was that they would not side with a British boxer against an American. Why do you think Lamont Peterson never lost his title, despite failing a drugs test and then admitting that they failed to declare his testosterone treatment, which they claimed was for medical reasons, as they were required to?
They will side with Golden Boy above Hearn every day of the week.
Ten of the 11 members of the IBF board are American and the only one who isn't is an Aussie guy who write for Fightnews.

The Taylor fight wasn't in The Super Six. They just could not sell it over here and ended up setting up a PPV stream. ITV showed it a week later after it's thrilling ending.[/quote]

the taylor fight was in the early stages of the super 6, after abraham brutally ko'd taylor also in the super 6 team taylor withdrew their fighter and he was replaced in the competition.
