Re: Mayweather coming to UK in June/July
The contract for this tour is very clear.
45 minutes talking 45 minutes photos.
The VIP's will get their photo but cant see the rest having any chance.
As of today still no official confirmation he's coming.
Sincerely hope he is.

It will be a disaster this , I will be steering well clear
Re: Mayweather coming to UK in June/July
I've come across similar contracts for various dinner shows but the vast majority of boxers tend to stay much longer for photos to prevent their fans from leaving disappointed, especially if it is an active boxer. VIP ticket holders are paying considerably more for very minimal advantage.Parson Cross wrote:The contract for this tour is very clear.

Mayweather's Visa has been sorted according to the promoter of the Birmingham show but nothing is ever for certain in the dinner show industry. I met him for free at the Peacock gym a few years ago so I'm not going to pay £250+ to see him again but I'm sure many will.

Mayweather won't mate !
I've had this contract on my desk since March.
I walked away by April.
His demands are unbelievable.

How's he getting on after his stint in prison?
Re: Mayweather coming to UK in June/July
In that case I wouldn't be surprised if this 'tour' falls through. If he expects Vegas style presidential suites for himself and his entourage in Birmingham then he shall be seriously disappointedParson Cross wrote:Mayweather won't mate !

No idea what link is to these 2 universities but i "know" tickets will go on sale, so presumably some sort of talk? But why do that with his money? Also, ill bet the 2 unis will look to cash in and charge over the top.

I can't understand the attraction in wanting to pay 100s ££s for a foto-opportunity with a guy worth $200-300m perhaps, who far from wanting his picture with you is doing it for a few extra bob. It's basically a picture saying that man wanted nothing to do with me unless I paid him. I'd rather give it to a hooker - or a charitable cause.
on the reverse side, I can see why people would want to maximise even these seemingly minor earnings, in a sport where literally hundreds or its top exponents end up completely potless.

I would be skipping the photo opportunity with the hookers though..... instead of children on need, hookers in need would combine the charitable donation and sexy timesn1ebf wrote:I can't understand the attraction in wanting to pay 100s ££s for a foto-opportunity with a guy worth $200-300m perhaps, who far wanting wanting his picture with you is doing it for a few extra bob. I have no interest in these live shennanigans at all, of course I will watch it all online though, I would pay to see a gym workout or sparring session maybe or a not so big audience question and answer session

Re: Mayweather coming to UK in June/July
they used to let people in to watch Ali for a pittance. I assume it wasn't much anyway, even tho it was a while ago. There's a foto somewhere with a sign outside the gym saying 10 cents to watch or something. This was at his early 20s/ mid 20s prime. Can you just imagine it???macaca wrote:I would be skipping the photo opportunity with the hookers though..... instead of children on need, hookers in need would combine the charitable donation and sexy timesn1ebf wrote:I can't understand the attraction in wanting to pay 100s ££s for a foto-opportunity with a guy worth $200-300m perhaps, who far wanting wanting his picture with you is doing it for a few extra bob. I agree, gym session would be nice to see but a name like Mayweather gets mentioned and you know it's getting bombarded. A lot of people would be there to "tick the name off as well", rather than just marvel at curious skills.

I'm with you on that one. Nothing against Mayweather but what does anyone get out of it? If he was really funny I could understand 50 quid or a ton but what information is he going to give you that is worth a monkey?n1ebf wrote:I can't understand the attraction in wanting to pay 100s ££s for a foto-opportunity with a guy worth $200-300m perhaps, who far from wanting his picture with you is doing it for a few extra bob. Although I'm going to steer clear of the Mayweather circus I have to say I've had some cracking nights at the usual "An Evening with" events.
Its normally around £75, you get fed, plenty of beer and boxing fans to chinwag with. Admittedly you get to hear a few well rehearsed war stories but most are quite approachable and happy to answer your questions.

Hatton, for all his faults, is good value in events like this.

Alba,
Put simply cost and time he would stay for.
Having an entourage of 13 to pay for doesn't help either.
That's flights accommodation etc etc

The London event is on the 20th June I believe, at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

Events booked every night mate from 16/6 - taking in London Leeds (twice) Birmingham Leicester Liverpool to name a few. All being organised by good blokes but here we are in 18/5 and nothing confirmed. Heard his trip to France is off.
Re: Mayweather coming to UK in June/July
I'm surprised Mayweather can be arsed to do this sort of tour. I fully understand why a lot of (ex)-pros do it, but not a guy of Mayweather's reported means. You'd think he'd be able to find a better way to spend his time.

Not when money is involved old bean as he did the same prior to the Hatton fight. If it means more fights fans traveling for his fight or watching PPV then it's obvious he'll do it.

If he's got a fight to promote, then yes. He hasn't.Roars Like Me wrote:Not when money is involved old bean as he did the same prior to the Hatton fight. If it means more fights fans traveling for his fight or watching PPV then it's obvious he'll do it.

That is the closest thing to a confirmation. However, I still have my doubts.
Re: Mayweather coming to UK in June/July
250 a ticket if u buy a table of 12 - so £3000 per table. That'll cover the entourage!
