Best fight?
Meza/Garza or Benn/Barkley off of the top of my head.

Pretty recently Said Ouali vs Hector David Saldiva was pretty entertaining.

Ola Afolabi v Terry Dunstan had a massive punch to end matters.

One of my personal favorites is Ji Hoon Kim vs Koba Gogaladze.
Thomas Davis vs Kendall Holt
Meza/Garza as has already been mentioned was spectacular.
I'm sure there's more, but those immediately spring to mind.

My favorite would be Ali and Sonny back in '65.
It was far from the "best", but it takes the cake for the most bizarre.
What a cast of characters. Ali running around the ring, Sonny laying on the floor waiting for the ref to count him out, the ref not knowing what the hell was going on, and a man not connected to the fight playing a huge role in ending it.

Holt v torres
Re: What's the best 1st round KO you've seen?
Tua over Ruiz.
It was a joy to watch, and there was just something very right about it.
Yes, it was short, and I had paid the price of admission, and yet I went away satisfied and didn't complain at all that we all had to go home early.

Re: What's the best 1st round KO you've seen?
The first meeting between Sergio Martinez and Paul Williams was a great first round as both men traded knockdowns. Probably not the best I've ever seen if I really thought hard about it, but in terms of anything I've seen recently it rates up there.
Re: What's the best 1st round KO you've seen?
Ole Klemetson v Crawford Ashley.
Re: What's the best 1st round KO you've seen?
Ashley is one of my [least] favourite KOs but it was in the 2nd, not the first.
Some ones that made me go "wow":
Lopez/PDLeon
Thaxton/Ryan
Ryan/Hale
Dunstan/Gurov
Lockridge/Mayweather
Augie Sanchez/JM Johnson
Tyson/Spinks
Marciano/Wallcott
Recently, Gonzalez/Mares & Stevenson/Dawson and the dude who chinned Linares a few years back.

Shavers vs ellis...
Re: What's the best 1st round KO you've seen?
You can't have a better night than a 1st punch thrown KO...1 or 2 seconds into the fight.

The Marciano vs Walcott II to knockout as impressive.
Although the Tyson vs Berbick knockout was jaw-dropping.

Crease,
Tyson knocked out Berbick in the second round not the first round and you should check it on youtube.
For me:
Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling II
Mike Tyson vs. Michael Spinks

Nicky Piper v John Ellis - time: 12 seconds, first punch thrown by Piper, Ellis has no time to throw a punch.

Naseem Hamed v Said Lawal - time 35 seconds, Hamed drops Lawal hard with first punch thrown, finishes him with 2 more; all punches thrown with lead hand - Lawal does not throw a punch.

Funny thing about the Hamed one is it probably would of been over sooner if he didn't somewhat drag it on

Re: What's the best 1st round KO you've seen?
Witherspoon v Bonecrusher 2 is significant for me, the first one round knockout I ever saw, and probably led to some kind of trauma to the boxing- perception centres of my brain.
My 8 year old mind had to digest the shock of seeing my hero flattened and then my innocent, naive trust in the righteous simplicity of the world was totally shattered by my fathers assertions that Witherspoon had been drugged by Don King because he feared that Tim would expose Mike Tyson. (I never questioned how he could be so certain of this, and he would have sworn his life on it)
