Can anybody please tell me honestly that one of the top coaches would seriously consider taking this boy on.thos kid could be a decent journeyman in which case I could've helped by if not training putting him onto a manager that could help.im not gonna blow wind in his sails telling him one of britains best will help him.if their not gonna have a chance of making money.they feckin won't.i can assure you.oh. The guy may have a bad record , BUT could end up one of the most valuable members in the gym , he may be an ackward tough southpaw . , he may be a really good talented lad with exceptional defence , he may be like LOTS and LOTS of others that all trainers have seen , The kid with more talent than 6 world champs put together , who just cannot perform out side of the gym . These sort of guys are in abudance , and these are the guys who trainers like Johnny need , to help bring along the boxers he has got .

They don't need to be insulted , with i'll rescind my offer , by a guy who has only just started training boxers , like someone else said , Johnny is'nt excatly Fredie Roach . You never know he may be a flat footed puncher who was'nt suited to the one punch and run style the ameteurs have been producing for a couple of years ,

Regards tickets , who knows , maybee he comes out like Tyson black shorts , charisma written all over him , knocks out his opponent with the first punch , calls all english a mob of basteeds , gets the crowd worked up and instantly becomes a top draw , or maybee he has the skills of Julian Lorcy (who remembers him )

Or maybee he's just average , but wants to learn and becomes a good asset to the gym ,, I did'nt read into his post anything except he wants to learn from a decent coach , and up to now he's not been told where to go . He's only been insulted with a offer thats then been rescinded , Publicly ,

Johnny you have nothing to be sorry about you are telling it how it is unless you sell tickets no trainer manager or promotor will be interested and as for him looking to hook up with a top trainer/coach etc I have always held the view that the trainer is only as good as the boxer basically I think the kid is deluded coz it ain't going to happen

he fought a 1-6 guy and didn't do good. he also fought a debutant and didnt win a round.

i admire his desire to continue improving though, doesnt matter what level your at its nice to see the desire.

Johnny hasn't insulted the fellow at all, the way I read the posts it seems as if the french fighter was hoping to join a top flight gym; surely it'd be easier to do that in his home country where he at least speaks and understands the language? It seems he imagines boxing is easier in Britain than in France? If I were the french fighter I'd consider Johnny's points which are realistic and if I still wanted an adventure I'd go to Sheffield to the Ingle gym; they have done wonders there with fighters without the best amateur records or pro starts; the cost of living is a fair bit cheaper than London as well. It's better that someone (Johnny Greaves) who understands the sport is honest about how things are, it's far better that than selling the fellow a lie or sugar coating the reality.

What I dont understand is why dont promoters take on guys that might not be ticket sellers to begin with but have talent and can become ticket sellers? Isnt it the job of a 'promoter' to try and make somebody a ticket seller. If not maybe they shouldnt be called promoters.

Also, how many tickets did Brook sell to begin with? He's always had talent but he didnt turn over with an outstanding amateur record. I know he won titles as a junior though.

You have to call a spade a spade and when someone is involved in essentially what you are currently doing and you ask for advice, you must take that advice on board and process it as you see fit.

Crackin me up that U can even mention this geezers name in same sentence as tysons but to insiuate there's a possibility he is the next one is ludicrus!! No offense to Jonny greaves its a name iv never heard but when u have had over 100 fights then tell him he ain't no Freddy roach roach wasn't a great pro but has learnt his trade I would consider it an honour to meet someone like Jonny but seriously other then to be polite why would he meet this fella its called realism!!!
