Think Tyson described him as "drunk as a skunk" that night.

I loved the his discription of the infamous Mitch Green street fight.. "Now Mitch, you must consider what you are doing. I do not think that this course of action is in the long run advantageous for your health. You'll remember that I already vanquished you when we met in the ring.. You need to proceed to the nearest exit immediately".  And then nearly kills the guy..

I have read the whole book and it is a good read.....it started more positively than it ended in the respect that it held more in depth information in the beginning and it kind of feels that Tyson was really focused on this section of the book.
The book is on the naughty side but that becomes boring in it's own way....

Entertaining nonetheless..

Was a good book but there is a constant reminder he was messed up. I always feel he knew he was indebted to cus for what he gave him but feel if he didn't box or have the potential he did cus would not have gone near him and he knew it. Best book iv read when talking about boxing and his training but all the drugs n gettin off his nut and self hating made it drag out and take a different road but was a good read.

I have mixed feelings about the book for the reason you said. It was really cool to get an inside look straight from the horse's mouth about what was going on in his head before and during his fights. At the time of his career, especially when he was dominating, him losing to buster Douglas was one of the most shocking outcomes of anything seen in sports. If you aren't old enough to remember that fight you just have no idea how unbelievable that was because tyson in everyone's eyes was unbeatable. However, the book gives you the exact reason he lost that fight and why he was never any good after that loss. He just didn't care about fighting, plain and simple. He wanted the life it gave him but was no longer dedicated to be the best.

Anyway, that was the good part of the book. The part that I had trouble getting through was all the prison stuff, the women he had sex with and him letting us know of every coke binge he went on. I almost got the impression that he talks about it so much because deep down he still desires that life and the only reason he doesn't still live that way is he can't afford it any longer. That may be the farthest thing from the truth. Maybe he really does want to be a better person. But that is the impression I got. Good book though if you can make it through those parts of the book.
