Anyone else notice how much Roy Jones uses the term "He needs to get him in a dog fight" he says that a WHOLE LOT for a guy that was basically never in that kind of fight.

He just said it again. "if Alvarado can't outbox him in the first few rounds, he needs to get him in a dog fight"

yeah postol is in control. I think that one shot in the first that sent postol back
was actually something to do with their feet but I'd need to see it again.
I'm actually listening to larry merchant slur his way through the commentary
on this one

Round 1

Postol is double jabbing on each step and holding Aydin outside. Aydin is ducking and rolling his upper body as he creeps in and puts up his own jabs, missing. HUGE counter left hook by Aydin, catching Postol on the point of the chin as as he stepped back in a straight line, staggering Postol. Jabs by Postol re-establishing himself on the outside.

10-9 Aydin

Round 2

Postol is jabbing and stepping left. Aydin catches jabs on his forearms and stabs up top with a hard but slow jab, clomping his foot down as he throws. Heavy left hooks by Aydin, sidestepped and caught on the arms b Postol. 1-2s and longer straight flurries by Postol on the outside, keeping distance.

10-9 Postol

Round 3

Postol is stepping in and out with straight poker jabs and long 1-2-3 combos on the return trip. Aydin jabs high, blocked. Aydin tries ducking and weaving in with hooks but gets picked off and stepped around. Postol keeps moving and jabbing, working combos off the jab.

Round 4

Postol is bringing his jab up and down from Aydin's belt line to his face, pecking from outside. Postol scores with long straight combinations, always starting off with the jab, hopping in and out with Aydin never getting close. A few long body shots tapped in lightly from outside by Postol.

surprised no headbutts so far with the aydin is jumping in and out.
don't like how postol holds aydin's left inside but if the ref doesn't stop it
then it's an effective way to shut down the inside fighting

Round 5

Postol is keeping the jab needling into Aydin's face, sometimes having to chip through his tightened guard but always managing to just split the gloves. Aydin is marching forward, tossing an odd right down at the body, mostly just lunging up with jabs and crosses from too far away. Postol is throwing 1-2-3s, turning Aydin, slapping the body and stepping out to reset and jab on the go some more.

What a stupid crowd. I can't understand why they are booing. Postol is boxing beautifully and throwing hard punches. It's not like this is a clinch fest.

Round 6

Postol is doubling the jab and hopping a few paces out, letting Aydin walk onto more jabs and straight right/left hook combos. Postol is experimenting on the outside with long uppercuts on the body. Aydin is lunging up with head shots and falling short. Postol is parrying the high jab and brushing Aydin aside, landing combos while orbiting close and then pushing out to the perimeter again.

The crowds at Boxing matches tend to be stupid in general unfortunately.

I agree with you though. 7-0 Postol He's performing very well.

Round 7

Postol is truly warmed up now, using Aydin for target practice with jabs and crosses while standing firm in stark contrast to Aydin's plodding and unsteady balance. Aydin is rocked by a jab and uppercut while ducking. Postol is doubling the jab out gently into the face, making Aydin curl up and twist away, then hitting the body with a long lead left hook.

Round 8

Postol is jabbing and keeping Aydin at arm's length. Hooks on the body by Aydin, going south of the border. Postol is throwing light flurries and dancing around on his toes. Clubbing right on the back from Aydin, causing Postol to lean over involuntarily and quicken his pace. Left hook on the body clean for Aydin. Postol is running but has banked enough of the round early on his jab.

10-9 Postol, but close.

i gave 8th to aydin, only round I gave him so far.
he's throwing hard shots and missing a lot but landed some also.
postol seems like he wants to cruise to the victory
looks like a couple of light head clashes, too

9-0 Postol....not really any way that Aydin could win a decision here. He needs a KO.

Round 9

Postol is throwing jabs and uppercuts as he lets Aydin come forward without allowing him past the moat. Postol scissors his legs to preserve spacing and embarks on a full-ring expedition avoiding the pressure of Aydin while landing in short bursts.

Postol is beating the crap out of Aydin. He is landing hard flush shots whenever he wants but Aydin has a very good beard.
