Whether you like the style or not doesn't really matter, that shouldn't have any impact on how the fight is scored.

I like the cuban's myself. I've always preferred the technical boxers over the out and out sluggers though.

Some people appreciate certain styles more than others. There is nothing that can be done about that.

On Dirrel, I know what I am going to say will probably enrage some posters - but I do sometimes wonder if he had more complications following the Abraham fight than people want to believe?

I know many promoters wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, but he seems to make some press releases on his training (with his brother etc) and say this year will be my year - and then all of a sudden no sign.

I cannot see him being so unpopular that he cannot get at least a small hall promoter interested and I've never heard of stories of him having major discipline problems etc - seemed at least to live a clean living life.

The man is a world class talent in an exciting division, surely some promoter will make a gamble on him - but I do wonder if there are issues, maybe not failing a scan issues but like headaches or something which might result in self-doubts.

I genuinely think his heart just isn't in it. Maybe there was something genuinely wrong after the Abraham fight and that spooked him. Would have loved to see him against Ward.

Yes real shame with Dirrell. I know when Groves was sparring him for the Degale fight Adam Booth said that Dirrell was schooling Groves.

He could have given Ward a run for his money. Froch got the home result in his fight against him.

remember seeing a TV piece on Dirrell around about the time of the Super Six. Dedicated fellow, think they had his Dad or his Grandad, or both, on there, and some kids. Seemed a decent and family guy. Think he fought someone after Froch but admittedly have not heard much lately.

edit: once in '11, once in '12 and once in '13. Last fight February of that year. Where is The Matrix? A shame if a genuine talent fizzled out like that.

Eddie's retired, fairly heavy and running his own gym in and around Dublin. Patrick is rumoured to be signing with Lou DiBella and is back in Ireland after a stint in the US with Tracy Patterson. Paul has fallen off the radar completely after his Euro title fight with Casey.

Got stopped by Matthyse, beaten comfortably in his second comeback fight, not fought since.

Dont start me on Dirrell - such a talented guy but didnt have the heart for it. His hand speed and footspeed was right up there with the best of them. Funnily enough watched the Froch fight this morning and still can't see how Dirrel lost. He shots were razor sharp.
