Just seen the Travis Dic fight (potential spoiler)

How on earth did he survive round 5. Biggest heart I've seen for a while

yup. I believe it was the first one that did the damage as Clarkson got in with a peach of a left to the body. For staying on his feet he got peppered with 3 or 4 more to the same area but the first one had him going. Although the stoppage was not brilliantly timed (think the word incomprehensible was used on TV) I was worried Clarkson was gonna ship one while looking for the stoppage.
If it had have gone on I could have seen Clarkson finding his body again - but let's be honest, his face was a cause for concern.

I thought Tommy Coyle was amazing getting throogh round 11 against Brizuela.

But Travis getting through that round was even more ridiculous

The stoppage was a bit ridiculous mind. He was ducking punches when he was stopped

Superb fight from 2 warriors. The timing of the stoppage seemed questionable but the ref was right due to the clarkson facial damage. Respect to the ref for not stopping dickinson.

Fight of the year so far imo I don't think the stoppage was as bad as the commentators made out clarkson looked like his jaw was broken?

I'll be honest. I weren't really a fan of Travis beforehand but after showing the courage and toughness he did in that round, I am now.that fella really bit down on his gumshield.ive been hurt up the ribs like that and for anyone that hasn't.believe me. It's the most painful thing you'll ever feel.the other kid done unbelievable too. Great fight

I sometimes think that when you get fights like that the guys should get a bonus or something. When I was a kid "nobbins" used to get thrown in the ring if the crowd really enjoyed a scrap.

It is in the TV companies and promoters interests to make sure these guys who really go to the well for what is after all an entertainment business get paid properly. I know contractually it would be difficult to write a bonus clause in a contract as entertainment is subjective, but I think it would be good practice to pay these boys extra sometimes.

I don't know if you watch MMA, Broomhall, but in the UFC substantial 'Fight of the Night' and 'Performance of the Night' bonuses are paid. I agree with you that something similar should be implemented in boxing. I know for a fact that Frank-W has given ad hoc bonuses in the past.

Superb effort by Dickinson. How many times did we see Hatton opponents take that kind of shot and say no more. Brilliant stuff

A bit late to the party on this one, but saw the fight last night. Blown away by both fighters. How Dickenson kept getting up is beyond me. Nice gesture from Hennessy at the end to offer Clarkson a fight on the final bill.

I personally found round 5 tough viewing after watching last night. Trav was doubled over every time he got clipped to the body after the first knockdown, think the referee should have stepped in as it seriously looked like he could have big internal problems (i know it was broken ribs but the point is valid) .

Great heart shown by both men, i think if anything it showed they are maybe a class behind Ajisafe at the moment though.

I'll have to wait for YouTube as that five catch up is impossible to watch with all the bastard adverts
