David Haye news
Re: David Haye news
Come on lads give the guy a break, you can't expect Haye to have time for boxing whilst he's out and about getting pictures with his fans and retweeting them on Twitter.

Don't you have to provide evidence of purchasing two of his 'Hayemaker' T-Shirts to get a retweet off him? Couldn't believe it when I saw that.milpool wrote:Come on lads give the guy a break, you can't expect Haye to have time for boxing whilst he's out and about getting pictures with his fans and retweeting them on Twitter.

Re: David Haye news
Absolutely no doubt he had an injury, why would he go through the pretence of training, hiring sparring partners, generating expenses and then pull out against Fury of all people and lose £5 million, it makes no sense. I think it might have been Calzaghe who once said he has never entered a fight without some sort of injury, thats what happens after years of training, fighting and getting older.
Re: David Haye news
Thats rubbish i've had a few emails and a couple of replies on facebook from him aswell. I didnt have to buy two tshirts.King Tubby wrote:Don't you have to provide evidence of purchasing two of his 'Hayemaker' T-Shirts to get a retweet off him? Re: David Haye news
If Haye was daft enough to make up an injury, surely it would be one with no visable scars etc
Re: David Haye news
Who really cares about haye & his rehibilitation?
When he was active he was holding out for a big money fight!
He's made now & it would be a mockery for him to return.causes me no excitement whatsoever & I'm not concerned if he continues or not

A shame Haye wasnt more active
As much as he pi55ed me off with his cancelled fights, its shame he wasn't more active fighting at least twice a year. He would kick the F out of any active boxer except Wladimir

Was thinking this the other day, most on his time he’s been retired or injured, its shame really he was IMO the most exciting HW for years.

I held out a hope, briefly, that both Haye and Adamek could have potentially of changed the face of the division, reverting it back to the glory days when smaller, more athletic men were champions. However, Haye showed himself a coward; the moment he tasted Vladimir's power, he ran the night away. Adamek, to his credit, at least tried to make a contest of it, but was severely out gunned by Vitali.
I had, to a lesser extent, the same hope for Chambers and Cunningham. However, Cunningham was simply either too small, or he was more mentally beaten by Tyson Fury than anything else. Chambers, arguably the best man of the lot among the smaller heavyweights, simply didn't do enough while in the ring with Klitschko. Conditioning problems probably played a part, outside the fact he was facing a likely top ten worthy heavyweight.
But, I do agree, Haye was incredibly entertaining and it was a shame he didn't fight that often. Then again, I think that was part of his allure. Whenever he did fight, it was the event to go and see. However, I think personal ego and having an elitist attitude was his ultimate downfall. He honestly believed because of his popularity, he could get away with excuses or with his antics forever. He found out, quickly, this wasn't the case following the Tyson Fury debacle.
The shame of his career, is that he will probably never live this down. And he will be remembered by us fans, more for his lame attitude and his inability to rise to the occasion, than for his accomplishments. That's just my own personal opinion on David Haye.

I don't think the former undisputed unified world cruserweight champion and former world heavyweight champion gives a flying fornicate what any of us think ......... which is a shame, oh for that toe ...... what could have beenHomicideHenry wrote:I held out a hope, briefly, that both Haye and Adamek could have potentially of changed the face of the division, reverting it back to the glory days when smaller, more athletic men were champions. I think it's a shame he didn't stay at cruiser. He could've retired at 30, undefeated as a three-belt champion.

Re: A shame Haye wasnt more active
Was he scared of failure / doubted his ability? His performances against Wlad / valuev and attitude after suggested that? Or is that a bit harsh?
Anyone else think he'll re-emerge quicker than a tramp dives on chips if Wlad retires?

Re: A shame Haye wasnt more active
Did he really ever fully exert himself at heavy??
Re: A shame Haye wasnt more active
he is a classy boxer and would be favourite to beat every boxer not called Klit,,
wilder talks a lot about how good Haye is and Wilder will be WBC champ soon,,

Re: A shame Haye wasnt more active
True. There was a clip a while back of Haye dominating Wilder in sparring. Doesn't mean much but was impressive none the less.mullenman wrote:he is a classy boxer and would be favourite to beat every boxer not called Klit,,

Re: A shame Haye wasnt more active
Hayes true career was as a crusier - when he became a HW it was all about making the money the easiest possible way and he fooled alot of people and made a load of money. Mission accomplished
Re: A shame Haye wasnt more active
I hold out hope that he will come back for 2 maybe 3 more fights. He will fancy his chances against Stivern and will want a rematch with wlad plus a warm up due to being out of the ring for so long. But who knows depends how bad that injury is.
I fully believe fury was a really easy fight for him so he's either decided to have shoulder surgery instead of the fight so that he can target bigger fish later this year, or he genuinely knackered it and really has a possible career ending injury.
