Is he taking too much stick? I no your going get to get hit, but out his last
4 fights , 3 of them he's taken a bit here and there,
Tommy Coyle
Re: Tommy Coyle
I dont rate him that highly to be honest. He's got a lot of heart and makes for fun fights but I dont see him going on to do that much on a world level. Not that there's any shame in that though either.
Re: Tommy Coyle
He is a decent fighter, but I can't see him being more than a domestic fighter. The only reason he was even considered for a world eliminator was so Eddie could feed him to Mitchell.
I think he should be aiming towards the Lonsdale belt soon, whether that means a rematch with Matthews or moving up and fighting the Woodhouse vs Limond winner, i'm sure it will be intresting either way.

Re: Tommy Coyle
If he did move up I think saunders may have to much, at lightweight his best chance would
Be against Matthews, I think fighting mitchell would be not a good idea, to be honest
I think john murray would beat him,
Seems a good lad though, hope he wins. A Lonsdale belt or a commonwealth

Re: Tommy Coyle
I like his style all action throws lots but it wil b his down fall wen his in the ring with full blown lightweights. He might pick up the british title if matched correctly but lots of tough fighters in the division. The fact that 2 super feather fighters have stunned him and had to hold on has got to b a worry for his camp

Re: Tommy Coyle
I dont think he has the power to keep better fighters off of him. He gets masses of credit for his performance against Derry, yet Ormond actually beat the guy and gets next to no recognition for the achievment.
Exciting fighter and i wish him all the best.

Re: Tommy Coyle
I think he will do ok. I will always tune in to watch him as he always seems to be in good fights. I want to be entertained and he does that pretty much every time he steps in to the ring.
Let's face it, with the potential of big time boxing coming to Hull they need more than luke campbell and this is where Coyle comes in.

Re: Tommy Coyle
I think he's benifited by being from Hull where Eddie's trying to build up some great shows featuring Luke Campbell, obviously with Luke being at the start of his pro career Hearn needs someone who could fight in the city with some sort of title on the line and Coyle has reaped from that,i do still think Tommy's a good fighter though who has plenty heart and will always come to win but he's in the toughest division in the country so i cant see Eddie even being able to manouvre him to a world title shot like Smith,Selby etc as he'll probably not beat anyone in the top 5 and TBH if he wasn't from Hull i think he's still be fighting in obscurity
Re: Tommy Coyle
Spot on. Tommy is very popular in Hull and I think Eddie realised this when he saw the support he got in his match against Derry Matthews.Old Jack J wrote:

Tommy's got great potential but I think he needs to be matched carefully for the time being as he hasn't got that God given natural ability that someone like Luke Campbell has.
