IBF title shot for one of our lads.

Hearn said in his post Leeds show interview that one of his fighters will fight for the IBF title here in the UK, but it's not Kell Brook and he's not gonna reveal who it is because they have only shaken hands on the deal and still need to cross the t's and dot the i's. My immediate thought was 'ok so Scott Quigg is gonna fight Martinez' but later in the interview he said they are chasing the Santa Cruz fight for Quigg.

I'v truly no idea who it could be. Has he got Vasquez for one of our lightweights? Crolla v Vasquez maybe. Only other one that's semi realistic (but not really realistic at all considering it would potentially compromise the huge rematch) is Hernandez for Cleverly or Bellew.

He said the deal was verbally agreed at the IBF convention but did not say it was for the IBF title. There are numerous managers/promoters who attend the IBF convention but are not exclusively associated with the IBF. Therefore it might not be an IBF title ...

I stand humbly corrected. Yeah with that in mind it opens up all the Matchroom fighters who hold inter-silver titles.

Salido is the only champ without a fight coming up, so I'll be surprised if it is him.

Shocking Hearn uses the word 'japs' in this interview. Pretty sure that its viewed as a slur.

Not really. This term has historical context and also is viewed by Japanese people as an ethnic slur.

Are we talking about the featherweight division here and the world title? If so, im pretty sure Russell jnr is fighting Lomachenko for the vacant WBO belt.

Re Japan and IBF I can't imagine any Brit is fighting the Lighting Kid Katsunari Takayama, Japans only current IBF champion.
Stephen Smith Vs Takashi Miura seems likely and Tekien will have sent someone.

Selby might be getting a shot at Roberto Garcia trained Evgeny Gradovich, who has a gimme looking defence of his IBF title the same night as Froch-Groves 2.

If true, that's a tough fight for Selby and on his recent performances I'd see him coming off second best. Gradovich has been improving a lot of late, stopping Dib in the rematch.

He throws a lot of punches; circa a 1000 in a fight. I'd see him outworking Selby to a UD.
