SHOCK NEWS! Eubank talks bollocks.
That guy has spent years acting like a bellend. Since retirement, it's pretty much all he's done. Got to keep his face in the public somehow.
Before they hit upon the Multinutrition tournament, some of the most interesting things about the Channel 5 cards was that Eubank Jr. would put in an average performance, and then sit there and looked embarrassed whilst his dad basically talked him up and spat out various other nonsensical platitudes.
The funniest part was often that the interviewers at 5 often had no interest in hearing anything that Jr. had to say, blindly ignoring him whilst spunking themselves at Eubank's retarted prattlings.

No one is going to credit anything Eubank says until his son fights someone decent. Fight someone like Nick Blackwell or if he's ready for world level like he says then fight Macklin and earn that Golovkin shot! Somehow I don't see that happening.
Until then, no one cares.

Jr is the undisputed LBC (Latvian Boxing Commission) Champion. Sr is just trying to fool the ignorant boxing fans, which to be fair is the majority.
Re: Eubank is utterly delusional...
It was vaguely funny when he was on Channel 5 undercards, because he was clearly nowhere near as advanced in his career as daddy thought he was. And even if he had been, the interviewers weren't interested in talking to Jr. anyway, so would often ignore him. One interviewer going as far as not even asking Jr. a single question.Bohrsy wrote:No one is going to credit anything Eubank says until his son fights someone decent. With the move to allegedly though, you were anticipating he might push on with his career. 15 fights in, and he needs to step up. It's got the point that he should be at least fighting domestic level opponents. Otherwise, he'll just be remembered has a boxer that went nowhere and lived off his father's fame.
Re: Eubank is utterly delusional...
come on guys. This is the fight game. What is Chris Eubank going to say? My son is crap and wont go very much further? It is all about big talk, big promises and getting as much cash as you can before you end up on the park bench with me smelling of stale piss etc etc
It is also all about controversy and profile, people keep talking about you good or bad it pushes up the interviews and pay cheques. Eubank knows how to play this game as well as anyone.

Best thing I've heard since Brendan Ingle said Herol Graham would beat Frank Bruno.

Even that look on Jr`s face screams arrogance, but chances are he`ll be protected for a very long-time yet so we may have to get used to him.
Certainly gets people talking about him and therefore Boxing though.

suck it up booyah.
Re: Eubank is utterly delusional...
I reckon most of what is said in the Eubank camp is for shock value. I'm pretty certain nobody really believes Chris Junior can beat Golovkin at the moment.
Re: Eubank is utterly delusional...
Who knows? We're not finding out too much about him as he isn't being tested enough. I do think he has the potential to be very good but he needs to start stepping up his opposition and his general performances as he looks almost bored at times.mexicooo wrote:at the moment?....how good do you think jr will be?.....hes regressed in his last fights, only reason hes scoring stoppages is hes fighting worse competition than he did in his first 5-10.milpool wrote:I reckon most of what is said in the Eubank camp is for shock value. I hear what you're saying. Maybe Eubank's camp are deliberately putting him in with these eastern European stiffs as they realise that he hasn't got what it takes and as long as he's winning he's always going to be talked about?mexicooo wrote:
really? I don't think tyrone nurse has been tested or looks out of his comfort zone, however I will go out on a limb and predict I doubt he would ever beat a lucas matthyse ( no disrespect to tyrone intended)
jr is a long way off of being world class...on top of which he no longer really is a prospect (15 fights, 3 years) just an on top fighter that looks good at 'eastern euro' level
I would like to see him in with a live opponent and then we'll find out what he's really got. In saying all that, I realise that my judgement might be clouded since I was a big fan of his Dad and I do love to see a bit of attitude which junior has got in spades...!

Talk himself up? Eubank Jr. doesn't talk much at all, he just gets his dad in to do it for him.hitman_hatton1 wrote:ILikeBeer wrote:Otherwise, he'll just be remembered has a
And even then, most of what his dad says is spasticated ramblings about boxer's needing to have the will of the warrior, or some other meaningless shit. After about 10 minutes of inane ramblings, he might get round to mentioning his son.
At least when Ricky Hatton was mugging the camera during his brother's post-fight interviews, he actually said something positive and tried to use influence get Matty Boy some big name fights. Eubank just prattles on about some shit or another and occasionally mentions the actual fight he was being asked about.
Re: Eubank is utterly delusional...
Jr's "attitude in spades" always seem a bit put on to me. He didn't seem to have it in his first few fights, then it slowly appear. Almost like he's trying a bit hard to be his dad.milpool wrote: I hear what you're saying. Re: Eubank is utterly delusional...
Amazed how some of these young stars never say to the press, my dad talks bollocks. At that age I would have done so unless so shit scared of him and like a puppet, guess it happens a lot where you don't challenge your sporting been there done it father ......
Imagine someone his age with his experience with all the tools of Duran, Toney etc and that can beat GGG now ..........

Re: Eubank is utterly delusional...
Now, that would be funny. An interview with Eubank Jr where he goes; "Yeah. He is a bit of bellend, to be fair. Did you hear that crap he was talking in my last fight?"
