Virchis, 19-0 (17), of the Ukraine will defend his WBO intercontinental title against Englishman Sprott, 27-8 (14), live on Eurosport at 19:00 CET. The event is promoted by Spotlight Boxing and includes nine fights. The weigh-in takes place later today at Medical Center of Soelden.

i think sportt might nick this one.

Word is that the Ukrainian fella can really wack. Sprott's under orders from Jim Evans to box and move for this one and not get into a brawl. If Sprott can do this, he should win.

Virchis will nail him cleanly eventually, and when he does it'll be lights out. Taras Bidenko tried to box him (and did a very good job for a while) but every time he was caught by a clean shot he looked like going down... which he eventually did. About 4 times if I remember rightly!

What a robbery! I had Sprott winning that comfortably. That ukrainian was shit and Sprott boxed to orders.

You've been to taken in by holdsworth's really biased commentary. Sprott edged it, but Virchis landed lots of body shots and shots through the guard that holdsworth ignored.

He did a terrible comentary I thought.

Sprott put together some nice combos.. didnt see it all so couldnt comment on the result... needless to say, you need to win by a few rounds to get a draw away from home.... whether that be UK, Germany or Denmark.

one thing we can say is Virchis isnt getting past european level and as i said when this fight was announced his punch power is somewhat over-rated

7-5 Sprott, but I thought I was being kind to Virches. I only saw one winner.

Thought Holdsworth was poor, what was that tirrade about Boystov about.

Whats new? Holdsworth's commentary is always terrible. How on earth was that right hand that Boytsov landed not a good shot? It was bang on the point of the chin and he punched right through him. Holdsworth's retirement from behind the mic is long overdue, or at least get someone in alongside him to keep his bullshit to a minimum.

Yeah Steve H was a bit more cynical than usual even for him, seemed really bitter. Boytsov's finishing shot was a good right hand, can't believe Holdsworth questioned it's validity. Good to see Petranyi left his wig at home this time though

I had Sprott winning that one easily. The commentary was a farce, though.

Eurosport commentators are always shit though. It is such a poor channel, they can only afford one commentator.

Was it Holdsworth that was commentating on David Tua's comeback fight from New Zealand on Eurosport? Whoever it was kept going on about Tua wearing a skirt.

I'd love his job though, I mean he gets to go all these places watching boxing, and talking bollocks. I could do that.

Thought Sprott was unlucky. Holdsworth is starting to grate with me a little. I like the fact that he speaks his mind but he does seem a little negative at times. Plus I think he was overly biased to Sprott. Still he has good entertainment value.

You should hear the commentator Eurosprt uses for the K-1 kick boxing.

He makes Holdsworth sound like Reg Gutteridge by comparison.

Why did he keep saying no-one likes to lose their title to someone from overseas? If you're an international titlist then most of your opponants won't be from the Ukraine.

And he clearly speaking from a studio in England because he kept insisting that he was in Germany...when the fight was held in Austria.

Minter was okay, can read a fight well but clearly doesn't follow the scene.

When Holdsworth was asking him who he'd think would win out fighter X and Fighter Y (currently fighting) in the amateur championship we would often say - I don't know but it will take a good one to beat the fella whose on now.

It was alarming some of his memory lapses aswell, like when there was a break and Holdsworth asks - so Alan, how many amateur fights did you have. His answer was - I don't rememeber.

It was a little bit cringe worthy at times, Holdsworth was the consumate proffesional and didn't really try and correct Minter - but this left the impression that he was arse licking a bit.

I agree, on Holdsworth used to love his commentary - now I sometimes cringe.

Although, Wogan is still a legend at Eurovision.
