I think Stevenson has better boxing ability than he's shown tonight. He showed better against Cloud. He's loading up a lot more tonight looking for the stoppage.

Round 6

Straight right hand lead by Fonfara. Light right hooks on the body by Stevenson moving out and side to side, twitchy. Right hand by Fonfara, grazing. Left hook on the hairline by Fonfara. Big left whipped into the stomach by Stevenson. Another. Fonfara is hurt. Stevenson keeps stabbing underneath the arms of Fonfara with that left. Fonfara breaks into a full run around the ring, turning his back partially to Stevenson. Fonfara lands a left hook and chopping right leaning down on Stevenson with forearms bundled before and after throwing. Stevenson is flipping up right jabs while sliding his feet back, still twitchy. 1-2 up top by Stevenson, missing.

It's hard to gauge for me. Hopkins could outbox him for sure and Kovalev could definietly knock him out. I'm genuinely not sure.

Round 7

Fonfara lands a left hook on Stevenson as he is ducking away. Stevenson covers up as Fonfara drops a combination on him. Left hand up into the guard by Stevenson. Clinch. Fonfara is bending down to catch Stevenson's low lead left now on his elbows. Stevenson is hit with a short right hand backing up and shooting his right foot out of the pocket. Fonfara is landing jabs on the chin. Long glancing right hook up top by Stevenson. Fonfara is catching jabs on the underside of the left glove and plunging with right hands on the body, giving Stevenson a taste of his own medicine. Stevenson is jabbing up into the air, moving. Left hand by Stevenson mostly pinned between the gloves. Right hand by Fonfara.

Stevenson is wide open to that left hook though with that right hand so low.

Fonfara having a go he certainly hasn't disgraced himself, put up a better showing than Bellew did for sure. He's just not quite good enough.

Round 8

Fonfara is scoring with rights on the body. Fonfara is putting together combos off the jab while tethering it to Stevenson's forehead. Stevenson is getting found in his seated lean on the outside, Fonfara marching in fearlessly and landing rights and left hooks. Stevenson is slapping with the right hook and putting out left hands, very sloppy past Fonfara's neck. Right hand by Fonfara. Stevenson is shimmying and throwing right hook feints, hands carried low. Fonfara turns and times Stevenson with a right hand on the face. High rubbing jabs by Stevenson. Right hand across the top of the head by Fonfara.

Round 9

Fonfara rushes out and blocks a right hook. Fonfara jabs and lands a right cross. Another 1-2 and Stevenson is DOWN! Stevenson beats the count but has to quickly hop outside as Fonfara puts in 1-2s from a high guard, looking strong. Stevenson is rocked by a 1-2. Left hooks on the body by Fonfara, pushing Stevenson off balance and making him lunge out to hold. Fonfara is walking Stevenson down with double jabs. Lazy head movement by Stevenson is punished as Fonfara lands the right hand. Stevenson is backing into the ropes with his arms down, head lolling to either side and caught with the 1-2. Fonfara blocks a right jab and lands his left. Fonfara blocks a left hand and walks forward. Left hand on the body by Stevenson. Jab by Fonfara, pushing Stevenson's head back. Combination by Fonfara jumping in, rattled off the raised guard of Stevenson with some left hooks on the body mixed in.

Big round for Fonfara, Stevenson down. Convinces me even more Hopkins outboxes Stevenson and when Kovalev lands on him it's goodnight.
