My Grandfather won a bronze medal in the NY Golden Gloves in 1946. I have the medal. He was unattached. I can't find anything in Google. Is there anyway to get any records pertaining to his fight? When I was a boy I remember him telling me he knocked out his opponent is less than 45seconds. His name was Alphonse Nervo.
Thanks

Re: Golden Gloves 1946
He was a middle weight I believe, but may have been welterweight as well. I can find out as I believe it should be on the reverse of the medal. I'll ask my Mother to look for me tomorrow as it is with her.
I'm told I'm identical to him almost in size and build. If I were lean at at a fighting shape, I'd be about 150-160 lbs.
