You cant imagine Parky or Frost or the modern equivalent wanting to do special's on anyone including Mayweather there is no one in Ali's league worthy of such exposure.

Slightly. But this weekends fight will make the back pages of every daily. When boxing's done right, it's big news.

For the people who follow the boxers. I don't really know, I wasn't alive, but from what I've read of boxing in the 80's, it regularly got featured on news, back pages, everything. It got proper football level exposure.
You are right social media is huge - but would the messages get seen more than the big news programmes, newspaper headlines, etc?
