You must have missed groves sweating like a pig, nerves in his face twitching, not doing anything when Froch shoved him twice.the creepy clingy looks.Froch is ready this time.his vast experience will come throughdaviddee wrote:I'm not so sure what George is doing. Especially with that creepy look but the signs people don't notice are there. Froch Fidgeting in his seat.. Talking drinks of water to calm down and at the end sweaty hands.. He is more nervous in these situations but he's putting a good show on.. I think Groves is very intelligent and is playing a little game here

Terrible and near unwatchable, these two are not good at this stuff at all - all means absolutely nothing anyway ( oo good answer by George ! Woah great comeback by Carl !! etc etc )
The real interest will be seeing the weigh in ...
for a comparative novice, George showed astounding calm before the first bell last time - most would be falling apart under the bright lights when coming up against a hard bastard like Froch.. in such a pressure cooker atmosphere like that too.
That took nerves of steel, so don't expect him to waver this time either.

Re: Froch v Groves Countdown: The Gloves Are Off
If he's have been really nervous when Froch pushed him he'd have reacted, to be honest the early pressers etc were pretty stacked against him - people shouting stuff out and it was clear Eddie was team Froch through and through.
I think Froch has held it together really well this time though I am still surprised that he expected an opponent to be full of praise for him.
It may be very different when Groves isn't universally jeered at when he gets in the ring - I imagine both will have a mixed reception this time.
I hope the fight is as good as it can be.

I dunno, I thought George looked pretty angry after the push. The tell tale signs were that he went bright red in the face and when he started complaining to Eddie. That and when he said to paraphrase "you push me again and il end you" whilst pointing his finger quite angrily.palooka wrote:If he's have been really nervous when Froch pushed him he'd have reacted, to be honest the early pressers etc were pretty stacked against him - people shouting stuff out and it was clear Eddie was team Froch through and through.

I just don't think either is intimidated by the other and I think Froch is accustomed to being THE man, in the gym, in the pub etc etc; I don't think he's used to someone telling him things he doesn't like to hear.
Re: Froch v Groves Countdown: The Gloves Are Off
I agree to an extent but I actually think that Carl is pretty insecure and really doesnt like confrontation on the whole. Hence why his brother gets involved on his behalf. This might sound silly but I think he sees it as a bit of bullying and his brotherly instincts come into play. That and his personality in terms of enjoying the wind up is more similar to George's than Carl's.palooka wrote:I just don't think either is intimidated by the other and I think Froch is accustomed to being THE man, in the gym, in the pub etc etc; I don't think he's used to someone telling him things he doesn't like to hear.

It's a low-impact version. Old-school fighters used to throw up-jabs when they were out jogging (arse over tit, otherwise), and it seemed to become a standard for shadow boxing around the same time. It does the job as a placeholder when you're visualising.dbf wrote:Also always wondered why Froch always throughs an up jab when shadow boxing.

Part time. This time he's been at every training session.dbf wrote:Barry was part of his camp last time.G0mez wrote:Groves is going ape because they put the weigh-in back from 1pm to 4pm.
He's struggling to make weight on account of the extra muscle he's added with the fitness coach he's added for the first time.
Rocky Fielding knows all about that, it bit him hard last time too, doing the same thing.

Does Carl Froch have the SAME GIRL? HE MUST?
