He got the hump with me on Twitter, actually. I asked him what time Froch vs Groves ring walk on was, because it clashed with the snooker. He didn't reply. So I asked again, and got an arsey reply.

I just left a message on his Twitter congratulating him for not clashing with his dad's snooker. I'll see if I get a regular response.

Paddy Fitzpatrick’s boxing resume reads like a who’s who of the pugilist world. Involved in boxing now for over 25 years, Irishman Fitzpatrick has worked alongside some of the leading fi ghters and trainers the sport has to offer.

Paddy got a major break in 1997 when fi rst meeting Hall Of Fame trainer Freddie Roach in Jersey (Channel Islands). Roach was training Irishman Steve Collins at the time and Paddy made an immediate impression on the legendary trainer. Paddy was invited back to America to work with Roach at his illustrious Wild Card Gym, and it was the start of a US residency, which saw Paddy learn from some of the world’s best.

Keen to make a go of things Stateside, Paddy spent most of his time in America divided between Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlanta and Florida, working in all the best gyms available. Whether it be training, conditioning or providing nutritional advice, Paddy quickly created a reputation within the boxing industry as a man you want on your side.

Over the years Paddy has trained the likes of Laila Ali, Justin Juuko, Kid Diamond, William Guthrie, Michael Grant, Virgil Hill and Lucia Rijker. He has shared many stints working alongside trainers such as Freddie Roach and James ‘Buddy’ McGirt, and has seen and experienced most that goes on inside and outside the boxing ring.

Now back in Britain, Paddy remains one of the most sought-after and astute trainers in the world boxing and currently trains and manages former Commonwealth Gold Medalist Jamie Cox from the Boxing Academy gym in Swindon.

i was told paddy was working in a warehouse a few years back and one of the other workers was an amateur at the fitzroy lodge who kept telling paddy to come to the gym ,when paddy turned up it was obvious he knew his stuff took some pad sessions and impressed everyone but mick carney didn't want any knew trainers so he was sent to see adam booth across the road and that's were he met booth .

i was told by mark reigate the head trainer at the lodge ,he remained good mates with paddy and he stays with mark when he's in town . apparently he has a couple of kids and needed a wage so worked in the warehouse even though he had already worked with some very good fighters .
i was a little gutted when he told me the story as i just popped in to see mark as we used to spar together and he said he had deontay wilder in the day before while he was sparring with haye , would of been nice to see wilder training .

I like things like that; he seems a sound bloke - he's posted on here before and was good humoured. I hope they get a result on Saturday.

Watching Froch spar Eubank Jr, is it just me that thought Froch looked wide open??

Froch is always wide open. He's a very, very tough, hard man but his technique is bloody awful at times.

I keep fast forwarding the Froch bits, the guy really irritates the fk out of me. Dunno why, he's just one of those people, his face, his voice, his mannerisms.

I guess he'd probably speak very highly of me too. 8) D

I watched it and agree completely. I'd worry if they picked that footage as being the more successful footage. It actually may pay for froch to be wide open as I don't think froch will win a cagey affair and groves hasn't shown us that he can leave a wide open froch alone and just pick him off without engaging in toe to toe.

I literally only logged on to see what this place made of that sparring clip. Eubank Jr seemed to quite clearly get the better of it & it was a strange clip to use. I suppose it's stupid to read too much into it without knowing the context of when it happened though.

It's so hard to look into that clip.

I would assume Team Froch and Team Groves would have given the footage a once over so that sparring clip could have been deliberately put in by Froch, who knows.

It's clear that Eubank Jr's stock has risen in the build up to this fight though.

Its not often they show the sparring sessions in these type of programmes.. I'm surprised they did especially as Froch got caught a bit.
But then I suppose thats what sparring is for.....

If its happening every session for weeks on end then its a worry for froch. You can clearly see that froch is trying to stand his ground and not back off. His corner are telling him to not back off all the time. It could just be a session where he is trying something different and it not quite sticking yet.

Nothing to see really in such a short clip.

It's not hard to look into it Eubank Jnr schooled him good defensive work then explosive in attack.. 3 punches clean on the chin.. Groves will stop Froch definitely

that rumours over on eastside that Eubank Jr dropped froch in sparring.

And i have to say going by that footage of them on the behind the ropes episode it would not surprise me in the slightest. I thought Froch looked terrible.
