He looked very nervous, kept biting his lips, wiping his hands - didn't look healthy in the face.
Re: Pre fight press conference
I'm not watching but a mates just told me that Haye is back and wants the winner of Fury v Chisora. Is this true?

where can i watch this online?
Re: Pre fight press conference
I did read that he's hoping to get back for October apparantly. Does seem a little odd considering a couple of weeks ago he was giving off the impression that he cant even punch a bag.earsjohn wrote:I'm not watching but a mates just told me that Haye is back and wants the winner of Fury v Chisora. Re: Pre fight press conference
Aside from fighting Groves again, I wouldnt be surprised if the thought of fighting in front of 80k people is getting to Carl. Cant imagine many people that wouldnt be shitting it a little to be honest!
Re: Pre fight press conference
How did Groves look?
Re: Pre fight press conference
Froch looks like a 13 year old explaining the broken window in the headmaster's office.
Re: Pre fight press conference
Looked pretty much the same as always. Looked brash in the head to head as he normally. Carl looked particularily nervous there aswell I thought, wouldnt look at George really and was biting his lip a lot.SteveDow wrote:How did Groves look?
Re: Pre fight press conference
I think Groves has a 100 per cent belief that this will be a resounding win for him. He knows he's by far the better boxer, knows he has better handspeed, knows he has better footspeed, knows he has better one shot power. The only way Froch can win this is if Groves gasses like last time but I'm not sure it'll get to the championship rounds this time.
Re: Pre fight press conference
Groves brought a heavy 25 man entourage this time - was quite funny looking at Froch's little gang

Carl probably is Sh*tting bricks right now, he's in the fight of his life, against a guy that had a lot of successes against him very recently.
He'll be fine the minute he eats a jab or 3 in the first 30 seconds, the nerves will soon fade.

Re: Pre fight press conference
I'm going to knock him out with the left hook because we all know he leaves the left side of his chin open, slipped up slightly there gg

Re: Pre fight press conference
I have seen fighters heaving in the changing rooms, then going out putting masterclasses on.
At least this does even up all the 'Froch is ready, Groves is the cowardly lion' stuff we have had to hear.
Both will be nervous come fight night, because it is a fight where you can get seriously hurt, and your dreams can shatter. If you aren't nervous, you aren't ready

Re: Pre fight press conference
Exactly. Nerves in pre-fight press conferences are completely irrelevant. Groves is the naturally cooler of the two - and does seem to possess an unnaturally good temperament. That may in part be enforced by the earnestly held belief that he is the better boxer. It's true that Froch is the purest of fighters, rather than the purest of boxers. He has technical flaws which very few would be able to carry at the highest level without being exposed. It's his innate, untrainable resolve and desire to win combined with a bomb proof chin and spartan discipline which have made him the multiple world champion he is today.funtime wrote:Carl probably is Sh*tting bricks right now, he's in the fight of his life, against a guy that had a lot of successes against him very recently.

One of the defining factors will be whether or not Froch's 'structural integrity' is weakened as he nears the end of a long, hard career. There's only one way we'll find out. So, yeah I'd be sh*tting bricks too if I was him!
Re: Pre fight press conference
Froch welcomes the nerves.
He's happiest when he's nervous because he's always performed at his very best when he has been nervous.

No he was knackered having done 2 camps after ward got cut, and having the hardest route to the final.mickey1975 wrote:Was he nervous before award beat him up?G0mez wrote:Froch welcomes the nerves.

Re: Pre fight press conference
A past it Glen Johnson, a middleweight Abraham and chasing Dirrell all night isn't exactly mission impossible.G0mez wrote:No he was knackered having done 2 camps after ward got cut, and having the hardest route to the final.mickey1975 wrote:Was he nervous before award beat him up?G0mez wrote:Froch welcomes the nerves.

Re: Pre fight press conference
That's a bit harsh mate. Johnson had knocked Green out, Abraham whilst not a natural super middleweight still had serious power and had absolutely poleaxed Taylor and well Dirrell is probably the fastest guy in the super middleweight division.digzee wrote:A past it Glen Johnson, a middleweight Abraham and chasing Dirrell all night isn't exactly mission impossible.G0mez wrote:No he was knackered having done 2 camps after ward got cut, and having the hardest route to the final.mickey1975 wrote: Was he nervous before award beat him up?
