He's an Olympic Gold Medalist, British and European champion and is chief support in a final eliminator for the world title on the line in the main event, she should know who he is, especially if she's covering the event. It's her job, basic journalistic research would be to read up on the fighters on the show and watch a few of their fights if she's going to interview them and do a preview of the show.

Nice insight, and as I expected she isn't really into boxing that much. Taberes works with Haye too.

90% of boxing journalists fell into boxing or saw an opportunity there, most of them would rather be in other sports. Kugan would rather be doing football, I'm sure if you asked him about anything boxing related pre 2009 he wouldn't know much. Same with some of the Sky people, won't name names, but boxing found them they didn't find boxing.

But they all become 'experts' and act like part of clique, because covering boxing gives them some sort of man points.

Ed Robinson and Steve Bunce would have done anything to work in boxing, and pretty much have done everything in the sport between them, that's why they are two of the only peoples opinions I really listen too on TV.

Oh and last thing that annoys me about a lot of these internet boxing video 'journalists't is that they always seem to bang on about how hard they work and that they are doing it for free. The doing it for free part is entirely their choice and the hard work bit, well I don't hear any of the print or trade press banging on about how hard they work.

Yep it's all a bit of a cringe at times.

There is such a thing as merit though, so she shouldn't really be getting more time with the boxers than IFLTV in my opinion.
