Just over two weeks to go to the rematch.
Good luck to Sam and his crew, Im pretty confident they can do the job.
Gonna be an early start (3am here in the west) but will be getting up for this one!! Go King.
After Sturms performance against Barker and Sams against Sherro wondering how others see this going ?

In a perfect world, Solimans record would read 48-6-0.

Soliman has a tall task in front of him, it's not like the first fight was an easy win.
It was a tight decision that reasonably could have went the other way but it went to Sam.
Soliman will have to avoid getting in trouble early again. Sturm generally is not willing to risk walking into something wild trying to finish somebody and really let Sam off the hook last time but I don't think he will make that mistake again. Plus he's already seen Sam's unorthodox style once and will likely be better prepared this time.
He stays behind that tight guard if the other guy never stops punching though.
Don't touch the canvas, stay active every second of at least seven rounds and Soliman should be ok.

Agree. I bought the last one on fox and will get this one although havent noticed any advertising yet.

Ive booked the fight on mainevent. It has been brought forward and hour and a half by their timing. The telecast now starts at 3.30am AEST (1.30am here in the west). If anyone has some info re what time the main bout is due to start I would appreciate it. Originally the telecast was 5am AEST and Sam due on at 7am AEST. Hopefully the start of the main event is still the same otherwise its going to be a long night, or very early morning.

I guess, Main Event decided to telecast more than just title fights...hence 3:30 kick-off. Sam's fight should still be around 7am Oz east time.

First bell for the undercard is at 6:30 pm/CET, which should be 2:30am/AEST. The German broadcast by SAT.1 will go on air at 10:30pm/CET (6:30am/AEST), with the main event approximately to begin half an hour later at 11pm/CET = 7am/AEST.

If Sam wins he should be able to fight Quillin for a unified belt payday. Also If 3G don't fight Fletcher maybe the WBA should strip 3G from there title as they did to Geale.

what an awesome performance. I had the fight scored 118 110 for Sam with only two rounds in dispute. Absolutely dominant.
I dont understand German so I am not sure if Sturm announced his retirement or not, but it wouldn't surprise me.
Sam was relentless not allowing Sturm to get off. After a while Sams punches were taking effect and by that stage Sturm knew he needed a KO.

By far the biggest win of Soliman's career.
Bit of a historic win too, Sam is just the 9th boxer to hold a world title at age 40 or beyond.

According to the boxrec wiki Sam was an ISKA and WKA kickboxing champion. Is he the first former kickboxing champion to win a world title in boxing?

I hope Sturm doesn't retire, at one time he had the drawing power to line up all the big fights in the division but instead he used it to avoid every top middleweight for as long as possible. I hope he becomes a stepping stone, "name opponent" for young guys to beat up on their way up the rankings.

No, he isn't the first but he is the first Aussie to win a major world title after kickboxing/Muay Thai titles

Great win by Sammy today, Well deserved and now he can look forward to some good paydays. BTW Geale and his team treader Sammy like shit making him jump hoops and blowing him off the way they did. I hope Sammy can go and fight Quillin sometime soon. Let Geale fight 3G.

Watched it a little while ago, 117-111 Soliman.
Sturm was outclassed, he had no answer for Soliman's constant work rate, couldn't keep the pace.

I want to back off on my above statement about Sturm becoming target practice for youngsters on their way up.
Felix looked like a boxer at the end of road yesterday.....a boxer who knew he was at the end, he knew he was losing but he didn't stop trying to win, knowing there was no other way to win he was trying to knockout Sam in the late rounds. Obviously, he didn't have it in him to do that because he's never been that kind of boxer but he tried.
Over the years we have seen plenty of boxers that were better and more accomplished than Sturm come to the end of road...........they are being retired by the ring.............................. and quite a few of them stop trying to win that day. They just put in rounds and collect that last paycheck. If that was Sturm's last time in the ring, he gave his last opponent everything he had left, he didn't just give him rounds and collect that last check which we don't always see.
Sturm earned more respect from me in those last few rounds of a lop-sided defeat than he ever did when winning a fight.

what are the chances of Soliman v Mundine? obviously not a fight the world wants to see but Mundine being Mundine will probably crawl out of his hole and try get Soliman in the ring. Sam may want some revenge.

I've heard reports that Khoder Nassar my well be in Melbourne waiting to meet Team Soliman. It would take a lot of cash to make that fight happen.
