There was a lot of empty seats. Definietly not 80k in there. The atmosphere for the main event was brilliant. The entrances were really good I thought. The atmosphere for the other fights was a bit subdued at times. Saw one fight but that was comical than anything and the steward soon got rid of the main instigator.

sounds fairly secure. It must be hard to police a big joint like that although I guess you just use more staff. Were there a lot of coppers and also did you have to go through any special security measures??? A massive event like that or an airport you would expect some security - but with Boxing I imagine it would be pretty relaxed being as how they generally allow p*ssed up folk to get drunk until they can hardly stand up. I wouldn't be surprised if people smuggled bloody allsorts into there!

Yeah it was a package deal. Probably going to write to them to try and get a refund. The money wasnt much but the service was terrible.

Did you have your ticket scanned? They do that at football so I guess its the same. If not, then go for a full refund/compensation. The coach didnt turn up so you didn't even get there etc

It was ok, didn't seem like 80k to me either but still plenty. The atmosphere was actually annoying with far too much booing for my liking. Too many people there for just the main event so a lot of empty seats for the undercard.

Hayes suit was visible even from the rafters.

Fights were good. Again annoyed at a couple early stoppages. Main event was very tense I thought, but clinical in the end and a worthy winner. Shame either fighter had to lose, let's hope they both continue to carry the flag for a while yet.

me and my brother went last night in block f watched most of the fights on the screen but the atmosphere for the main fight was the best ive ever felt and loved the entrances i dont think theres was 80k there maybe 70, 75 people are saying there was alot of empty seats but wembley holds 90k and there must of been 2 or 3 thousand on the pitch so there was going to be. i aslo didnt see one bit of trouble in the stadium only the police trying to stop people at wembley station.

Great night and we had a surprisingly good view for our 40 quid seats. Didn't see any trouble, made some 'friends' as usual (everyone I spoke to was pulling for Froch) another great night.

There was 80k there in my opinion. Don't forget that they used the pitch too! Even without using seats on the pitch Wembley has a 90k capacity.

I noticed they had a roof over the ring. If it started to rain would the people sitting on the pitch have all just got soaked then?? Didn't it start raining when Lewis and Bruno fought in Cardiff??

Yes they would have got soaked, like they did during Klitschko v Haye in Hamburg!

Atmosphere was awesome, some noise often gets lost when no roof but around me in block B middle tier it was spine tingling.

One section of top tier was empty which was unsold coach packages and the top 2 or 3 rows of top tier all around was empty. And they tarped off a few blocks if seats in the four corners. I'd say 4 or 5k on the floor so def 75-80k in there.

Only fighter we saw were Gonzales about midnight as he left, with Virgil hunter and entourage.

Even though I was supporting George Groves, I'm still buzzing from the sheer energy of the event. Wembley looked the best I've ever seen it with the flashes of cameras/phones in the crowd and the lit ring just before the main event - serious goosebumps! Thought GG's entrance was different class as well.

In the £80 section the groups to either side & in front of us were all Northerners supporting Groves (as were me & my mates) which kind of discredits any theory of a North/South divide in this one. Even though it was noisy, pissed & partisan, my block was probably the most sociable boxing crowd I've been in - loads of different groups chatting to each other & everyone just on a high from the event. Didn't actually notice any fisticuffs in the crowd all day.

All in all a quality night of boxing... now lets get DeGale v Froch hyped and do it all over again.

I think the empty seats werent ones on sale (if you look how they were all set out) and dont think those were included in the 80k (actually 78k) that was the set capacity for the fight.

I agree atmosphere was great for froch groves (and just before which was like a rave at times ha) but was subdued for the other fights. Suppose you will always get that when the undercard fighters don't get blocks of tickets themselves (ie getting all their fans together).

Was that the fight while Degale was on, heard someone say the geezer was knocked down a few stairs? Annoys me people stand and watch a fight in the crowd, watch the fornicating fight in the ring! All in all one fight in the crowd not bad at all. Early on I did see one rather large bloke fall over a couple of rows of stairs (comical) but his momentum nearly took him over to the tier below!

I expected the crowd to be full of right dicks if I'm honest, and there were loads in there but was still plenty of sound people who knew their stuff too.

Considering I was in the third tier I had a way better view than I expected to be honest. Mind you I was near enough centre on the ring dunno if it would have been so good if was in the corners or behind the goals.

All in all it wa sa great event an seemed something very special for British boxing, glad I was part of it.

I'd say the crowd were pretty split and not just the obvious london=Groves and Midlands/North= Froch either.

i thought it was a great event - i was under no illusions about the view having sat in a few places in wembley before and was actually pleasantly suprised up on the side of the upper tier. the screens were of excellent quality...

no trouble at all - great atmosphere and wembley looked fantastic for the ringwalks

only the most obtuse or negative of 'fans' could say anything other than well done to everyone involved

I'm far from a Hearn/Matchroom fanboy, in fact I'm often critical of them but totally agree can't knock Saturday at all. Was one of those once in a lifetime type events glad I was there.

It was 80,000 in there. The capacity for football is 90,000, plus there were about 8,000 seats on the pitch. So there could have been 18,000 empty or blocked off seats and still been 80,000 in there

It was a good night overall. Met some funny characters. Making my way up to my seat brought on a sense of vertigo inititally lol but was alright in the end.

I enjoyed the night! Stadium fights are good as a one off and when there is the demand for it but I have a feeling Hearn will try and force it again when it isn't needed. Also, most of the crowd are dead until the main event. Much prefer arena fights.

Crowd seemed mixed. Loads of casual sports fans who were there for the spectacle and they were all sound but also a lot of "lad" types who probably spent more time queuing to get into the toilet cubicles than actually watching the boxing. The lads sat next to me had all massively overspent on their tickets (They paid £150 each for £40 tickets) and they spent most of the time going back and forth to the toilet for a sniff. Then during the main event they just started doing coke in their seats.

There was a bit of crowd trouble behind me. My friends said someone got pushed down the stairs but I didn't see any of it. It amazes me that people will watch a fight between two drunks in the crowd rather than a fight between two world class athletes in the ring!

I couldn't get over how big the VIP enclosure was around the ring the other night; I think it spanned around ten rows back. I'd have been well annoyed had I forked out £1,500 and had to sit ten rows back from the ring.

Less trouble or aggro than other shows I've been to at the echo for example, and a nice vibe. Loved all the party boys and girls dancing when the music started banging about ten mins before groves came out!

Plenty of good boxing, an incredibly well planned evening (even if the number 83 bus took an extra hour to turn up) and everybody going home happy.

No wonder the haters are having to concentrate on the commentary.

Clearly nobody seems as annoyed as me by the constant booing of everyone at the event. Froch, groves, haye and khan all booed in their nations capital. I was gutted at that behaviour. It didn't spoil my night but definitely took from the event for me.
