I seen GGG as been awarded the big super belt and that means if martin had of just been patient he would of been moved from interim to full champion as quigg did - boxing is cruel at times
He is fighting max the axe bursak in a couple of weeks and he needs a big win . is this fight on british t.v

calm down calm down , although rainford does post about murray i do agree he isnt as critical but rainford you was over the top at 1st so you carry the -(murray hater) label 4ever now. As for ggg how many belts and how it should be just one but in todays world the is many and you are correct murray as missed a golden opportunity with if i heard right he pulled out a fight in monte carlo with a false injury(only a rumour) to get away from hatton promotions meaning he got stripped of the valuble interim title which now would of led to a full promotion too full champ ive also heard this wbc title in monte carlo is leading him to martinez/cotto winner so all is not lost if succesful against bursak and gets the shot again at martinez who i think will be victorious

Murray is a very good fighter and it seems that his biggest battles lately have been out of the ring, it must be terribly frustrating. I don't think he'd win against Golovkin to be honest but hope he can find a way through all the outside nonsense.

I wouldn't want to be rude, but they're not real WBA champions. They're only the No. 2 WBA fighter in their divisions.

i take ones hat off horse you are correct i heard a long time ago mayweather got a emirates or some stupid named belt off the wbc i dont think that lasted long but i suppose floyd can name his own belts

Though I may very nieve about it, I imagine the major consideration was financial - the alphabet organisations getting more money in from more belts. There was sometimes a log jam with a champion injured or in dispute and not boxing for ages. This slowed the whole show down, the television companies want titles on the line - they pay more money to show a fight with a title on the line etc etc.

so in that sense palooka i guess it does give you more chance of winning or fighting for a world title so maybe peep should be less critical of them - lets vote for all organisations too have interim and super belts

I don't know anyone who takes the alphabet titles seriously anymore, and there's no reason why anyone should.

Today's 'World title' belts are of little value & even less meaning. In fact they make boxing seem completely ridiculous, before the Froch fight on Saturday I spent about 10 mins trying to explain to my mates (casual fans) about the various titles & champions at super-middle, they looked at me like I was mad!

Golovkin & Martinez are the best 2 fighters at middleweight, Murray having a 'regular' world title wouldn't change a thing.

:( I know my post makes me seem an idiot - I'm not overly keen on 4 different champions in 16 weight divisions either. If there was one recognised champion in every division it'd be better to understand. That's not likely to happen anytime soon though).

I would disagree with this a bit. Yes it is frustrating that there are several belts, and to the ardent fan it can be difficult to explain to the more casual fan that there are sometimes at least 4 world champs. But on the other hand in the past fighters could spend a whole career missing a title shot-even top ranked contenders could spend their prime waiting. Now many more fighters can earn really good money-As fans we still get really good fights.

These guys put everything on the line for us-literally their lives-and if they make make a few extra quid for fighting for a "world" title or an inter continental-whatever isnt that a good thing?

People say the interest in boxing is waning-but I dont see that at all.
