Young Fury - The Latest Fury.

Post by Taansend »

This Saturday a Heavyweight by the name of Young Fury makes his debut on a bill in Geordieland.

Young Fury is Tyson Fury's younger brother. His real name is Hughie Fury but Hughie Fury, his & Tyson's cousin, is already a pro so Hughie II goes by Young.

Has anyone seen Young Fury as an amateur or know anything about him? I found an article that mentions him but doesn't cover any background.

So we now have Tyson Fury 22(16)-0, Hughie Fury 14(8)-0, Dempsey Fury 3-0, Phill Fury 13(2)-3 (who hasn't fought in 18 months).

That's quite the family :o

You would think Nick Fury or even Blind Fury would have been considered for names.

Hughie Jr. ????

Yeah, how inconsiderate of big Hughie to pinch two nicknames with the Hughie Lewis and Fist of Fury tag.

Hosea Burton and Andy Lee are cousins of theirs as well and Peter, John and Hugh all boxed professionally, although I thought Peter's record was longer than the 0-1 listed here.

I don't think he's related to them, although he is trained by Peter Fury, I've never seen him mentioned as a relation, just as a friend of Tyson's.

I'm guessing this Young Fury is a man 'raised with brutality that the average man cannot imagine' and he is the type to 'never give best' especially when it comes to 'bare knuckle action' etc

Thanks for all the responses.

I'm still expecting big things of Hughie Fury (cousin Hughie). I saw his debut & was so impressed with his poise. I think he's having problems with his hands though but time is well on his side & quality sparring (with big gloves) will do him just as much good (if not more) as fights against random Estonians at this point in his development.

Will be interesting to see how many of them progress though.

With an in house Fury fight royale rumble style, who would be last to give best? Tyson?

Nobody would give best, it's not allowed. They'd be immediately disowned and banned from future family rumbles.

How long until we have a card where all the fights feature a member of the Fury family?

It's good to see a decent group of Heavyweights bubbling away, in a year or two when hopefully everyone starts getting matched up against each other we could be looking at a strong division.
