Who will go on to have the better career?
Groves or Degale.
I think Degale is an idiot, but he seems to be fighting very well these days, and I pick him to beat Froch.
Who will have the better career?
I predict both win World Titles.

Re: Who will go on to have the better career?
I like GG but i do wonder whether he will have a "poor mans" Amir Khan type career (sounds hideously offensive without intention)
He'll lose as many as he wins at world level, but will get the opportunities because he's and exciting guy to watch. Certainly no shame in that either. I think both men could have 1 truly great win in the locker somewhere.

Groves will most likely end up with something like a 30-5 record, but he will excite, an he will be a very rich man, he already is a Millionaire.

I'm not really sure who will go on to have the better career, but De Gale definitely won me over with his performance against Gonzales, looks like he might finally live up to his potential.
If pushed I'd say De Gale might have a slightly better career, simply because of his awkward style & he doesn't seem as vulnerable as Groves, but at this point it's really impossible to say.

Re: Who will go on to have the better career?
Either will have done very well if they get the payday Groves had v Froch again
Re: Who will go on to have the better career?
I'd think I'd done well if I got one go at money like that.
Re: Who will go on to have the better career?
GG will always fail at world level; i hope he fades into obscurity and isn't allowed to dictate to anyone ever again.
Re: Who will go on to have the better career?
You spammed the f*** out of boxrec with with your anti Froch posts with your groove armada, tom ford, 500hp accounts.SMALL AXE1 wrote:Groves or Degale.

So of course you shall pick someone who couldn't lace his boots to beat him.
Re: Who will go on to have the better career?
Degale will have the better career, mainly because of Groves lack punch resistance, he seems to break up when he takes a barrage of good shots, Degale has a better chin and for me more power.
Re: Who will go on to have the better career?
I don't think Degale punches correctly - he slaps with a lot of punches and I'm surprised he has not been pulled about it. Groves hits way harder too.
Re: Who will go on to have the better career?
I don't know about that, when Groves fought Degale, Degale looked like the puncher in there, out of the 2, he does slap sometimes, so did Calzaghe but he punched hard, ask Eubank, in Degales last fight he looked very powerful, I guess the blender works for him, he has also had knee problems which make it difficult to bend and use the legs for power, along with other injuries he has had.G0mez wrote:I don't think Degale punches correctly - he slaps with a lot of punches and I'm surprised he has not been pulled about it. I have to laugh, groves was being hailed as something really really special five minutes ago! Lol! And Carl was shot to pieces! Boxing is so unbelievably fickle.

Idon't think Groves Lacks punch resistance, i think he lacks stamina both physically and mentally. He took good shots of Froch for most of 2 fights. I wouldnt say his beard is good, merely adequate.Anzi wrote:Degale will have the better career, mainly because of Groves lack punch resistance, he seems to break up when he takes a barrage of good shots, Degale has a better chin and for me more power.
like i say i expect him to have an Amir Khan lite career.
Re: Who will go on to have the better career?
Yes he is a bit like Khan exciting but at the same time delicate, remember he has been rocked a few times early before he has gone on to win, he said it himself, that he is thought of as chinny, as an explanation of his stoppage in the first Froch fight.funtime wrote:Idon't think Groves Lacks punch resistance, i think he lacks stamina both physically and mentally. I think Degale will depending he gets the fights. I think he takes a shot better but he also looks the physically stronger and can handle the rough stuff better aswell which is pretty important at the top level I think.

Both good points, Groves does have the right hand leveller. A bit like Haye and we know who maximised that potential!Anzi wrote:Yes he is a bit like Khan exciting but at the same time delicate, remember he has been rocked a few times early before he has gone on to win, he said it himself, that he is thought of as chinny, as an explanation of his stoppage in the first Froch fight.funtime wrote:Idon't think Groves Lacks punch resistance, i think he lacks stamina both physically and mentally. Degale will play with Froch. Degale will be too fast for old hook nose.
Re: Who will go on to have the better career?
Groves can compete favorably with anyone in the world for five or six rounds. After that he seems to fall a level.
DeGale is technically good but he got out thought by Groves. He doesn't come across as a particularly intelligent person (in fact I think he's a right knob). DeGale reminds me of what you would call in horse racing a flat track bully. He looks good against people he is a level above even if he does sometimes seem to fight within himself but once he comes up against someone who is intelligent or a hard b*****d like Froch I think he'll keep coming up short.
