Can't say Melendez didn't deserve the loss because of his repeated low blows. What a moron.

Yeah I had no problem with the even scorecard. The other two are pretty ridiculous. Melendez had a harder than expected night, but I felt he eked this one out just barely.

Officially he did not though. Tough break for him. Unbelievable luck to get this opportunity on short notice and that judging for Maciel.

someone had a thread in current earlier complaining about how the undercard was
going to suck. I'm pissed I missed that andy lee fight. I just saw the result and didn't
expect that. this could be a good fight, here

Sorry I meant round 4 not 5 was Maciel's round. That was undoubtedly a 10-7 round for Maciel.

You missed some awesome sh*t with the Lee vs Jackson fight. I expected that one to be an exciting bout. It was way more fun than I would've thought, and the KO was KO of the Year type sh*t.

When they said 97-91 I actually thought it was going to Maciel, because he took the 7th and 10th fairly clearly imo.
The reason I said I thought it would go to Melendez was because he was the Puerto Rican fighter in New York City. If anyone was supposed to get robbed on the cards you'd expect it to be the foreign fighter.

So much for the people who were complaining about the shitty undercards. Every fight so far tonight has been pretty good entertainment.

Vazquez is aggressive early, swarming in with jabs and rights. BIG left on the liver by the southpaw! Vazquez is down!! Vazquez gets up and meets Sonsona in the middle of the ring. 1-2-1-2 by Sonsona. Vazquez is skeeballing jabs out and up past Sonsona's head. Sonsona is circling to his left, raising and lowering his guard, catching Vazquez jabs on his right forearm. Sonsona flicks out jabs and backs up. Lunging right to the body by Vazquez, tied up. Round 5 was kinda close. I thought Vazquez did better overall, but Sonsona did good down the final stretch of the round. Could've went either way, I saw it for Vazquez.

Round 7

Complete hot mess of a round. Sonsona darts in with jabs and lefts. Headbutt on the nose by Vazquez. Low blow from Vazquez. Lots of bad things happening when they come together, mainly to Sonsona. Vazquez is capitalizing, gaining confidence, throwing jabs and treading invisible water, shrugging both arms in place by his sides as he moves forward. Sonsona boxes at mid-range behind the right jab.

Man this is crazy hard to keep up a score with.

Like 4 rounds to 3...point deduction thrown in for Sonsona.

I guess it's even or something like that.

66-66 I think

Round 8

Vazquez is throwing lazy hooks at Sonsona from outside and meshing with him up close, writhing on the inside and curling up behind his guard with hips twisted and head lowered. Sonsona is throwing combos on the way in and out when not actively tied up, and working the right jab after blocking Vazquez's straight attacks on the outside.
