They're both well past their primes at this point. Credit to Cotto.

I thought Cotto would be able to out box Martinez and I thought Martinez was even more past prime than most people, but its kind've sad to see how flat he is in there.

Round 2

Martinez is shuffling around to his left, unsteady and unbalanced. Left hooks up top by Cotto, keeping the right hand bolted into place to prevent Martinez escaping the other way. Martinez is forced to spiral out wide, his knees very loose and viscous, flicking right jabs into the air. Martinez down, slip. Cotto presses in, hooks on the body. Martinez dives in and ties up. Cotto shakes free and lands body shots.

3rd round was even, but judges usually go by the last minute more than
the first so Martinez probably got it on the cards.

Round 3

Martinez is sliding and jiving across the ring, cranking out high right jabs. Cotto is bossing the ring, cutting in straight on Martinez and hooking low. Cotto reaches up high and catches Martinez on the lip with the left jab, ducking through Martinez's southpaw jab. Martinez circles left, sliding backward. Cotto jumps in and throws hooks at the body in economical bursts, pulling out and resetting without punching himself out. Big left hook downstairs by Cotto, pulled halfway there as Martinez sidesteps. Left uppercut slicing the air by Cotto.

Martinez's legs go nearly every time he's hit with the left hook.

Round 4

Martinez is galloping around Cotto, three and four quick steps at once before standing in and fishing with the right jab. Cotto is doubling the left hook on the body, hurting Martinez. Cotto pushes Martinez onto the ropes with left hooks and right hands. Cotto is cutting the ring off, thrusting his left jab powerfully up into Martinez's face past Martinez's wide and light 1-2 thrown while springing around on his toes. Cotto is marching his man down and scoring lead hooks on the body, working the up-jab to keep Martinez from opening up with any preventative offense.

Last couple of rounds more like how I expected the fight to play out, Cotto boxing cleaner, but Martinez landing some heavy shots.... Big difference though is how Martinez' legs straighten up every time the left hook lands. He looks so fragile in there even now he's settled down a little more.

His knees were gone before the fight started. How did he expect to win walking on straight legs ?

Round 5

Martinez is getting whipped in line with the left jab and hurt with left hooks downstairs whenever he slows his pace even a tad. Cotto is sharking in, guard up, body rotated to his right, left foot thrusting in past Martinez's right toe. Cotto is jabbing hard, bouncing in, ducking back to slip Martinez's 1-2, gloves steepled overhead just in case.
