Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
I think I'd like to make all fights 12 rounds, and the WTF will use the 10 point system. I hope you all agree with this,of course Detroit has final say.
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
12 Rounds in the Group Stages, and Second Round.
15 rounds from Quarter Finals onward.

Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
Draw adjustment:
In the interest of transparency, I have to report that I had to adjust the draw for various reasons. Two transfers took place:
Eder Jofre & Jeff Chandler switched places (shouldn't matter that much, both men will remain the top ranked fighters of their groups)
Oscar Larios & Johnny Coulon switched places (again, both men are positioned third in their group and have similar placings World Rankings)
These had to occur for three reasons:
1. It means that the top half of the draw (Groups A-D) have Two World Titles and 1 minor belt, and ditto for the bottom half (Groups E-H).
2. It separated all the six titles, it meant that each of them had a group of their own.
3. To prevent future stable collisions in the second round (BoxBully could have had Jofre vs Poonsawat)
I've tried to make a positive impact with the minimum of inconvenience. This probably won't solve all the problems that could potentially arise, but if there is any problems, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Once again good luck to you all and thank you for your understanding.

Was it too late to join?armageto wrote:It seems everyone, including the titles are in the tourney. Herman and Lynch might as well join as well. Buzz won't fight us and no other good name fighters left. Add us to the list..........
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
Ahhhh, Wilfredo's first fight and a chance to erase another 'horrible' cuts loss.......bring on Toshiaki Nishioka, for the WBC Title, no less.
(I am sure that this is the way Crease worded it - thought feel free mate, to correct me)

Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
So, is Herman and Lynch in? Geto asked just before you blokes made the draw. I know it would mean re adjusting the groups but Herman and Lynch would be great additions.
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
Ahh, I see. Sorry Geto too late.
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
Sadly seems that way. I'll give it another day or two in case something changes. Maybe more managed fighters would like to join. If anything, I'll just make some lack luster fights against non managed fighters for the next 3 weeks.'Frilla wrote:Ahh, I see. Sorry Geto too late.

I could match up your guys againt Kevo's and that would complete the card and I could run it tonightarmageto wrote:Sadly seems that way. I'll give it another day or two in case something changes. what do you say?
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
There might be a fighter swapping out with Herman, so I'll get one of my guys in. I'm sure Kevo would join the tourney, he just isn't around as of late. Him and I would be 4 out of the 8 open slots. Uppercut might not know exactly what the tourney is, being new. That leaves Buzz to join or just face cpu bums.....like he's done all season.Fist of Legend wrote:I could match up your guys againt Kevo's and that would complete the card and I could run it tonightarmageto wrote:Sadly seems that way. We'll see what happens, but if it is waiting on me, I'll just select two non-managed fighters, if I can't get either of my guys in. We'll see what happens with the possible Herman swap....

Are there openings? I thought we were too late.

if you fight Kevo's guys I will start the card, but if you want to to wait and maybe have a poll to see if the general public wants to re-draw the tournament with Pete Herman then we can do that.DetroitHxC wrote:The problem is that there are only 34 fighters in the Sim, so filling all the spots in the tourny would leave just two guys, and putting unsigned fighters in one group and not another is unfair, so we decided the final 8 spots would go to unsigned fighters so each group would have one and the sim could operate outside of the tournament.
All was clearly stated here in this thread.
Now, personally I don't care if we let more guys in, but I also want the majority to be in agreeance with the decision.
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
Thx Detroit.
I would like to withdraw Donaire and as per my conversation with Geto, he will be replaced by Herman.

Swapping Pete Herman with Nonito Donaire puts Herman in YOUR bracketDetroitHxC wrote:If someone doesn't want to be in and another person wants in then I don't see why they can't swap.
So I have no objection
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
I take it Herman should be in then? I'll match up Lynch in the weekly thread.
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
Dont see the problem with the swap myself. Herman only makes the MDT better, and more prestigious.
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
Indeed now we have the #1 and #2 Fighters in the Rankings in the Tournament, along with All of the Championship Belts.DMA1987 wrote:Dont see the problem with the swap myself. Herman only makes the MDT better, and more prestigious.
Jimmy Barry the #3 ranked Fighter, having been DEFEATED prior to the tournament, no longer has much cache to his name. Perhaps he'll get another opportunity after the tournament, but as for now Barry has been exposed as the fraud with a padded record that he always was
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
Interesting how you take no notice of the facts of that fight...he was rallying nicely, and broke his hand. The fight was stopped and the judges were in disagreement about who was ahead. This hardly makes a statement that he was a fraud. I believe he still has the winningest record in the sim. A broken hand does not a fraud make.gilgamesh wrote:Indeed now we have the #1 and #2 Fighters in the Rankings in the Tournament, along with All of the Championship Belts.DMA1987 wrote:Dont see the problem with the swap myself. Now you sit down, contemplate reality, and shut up. A lot.
Re: Million Dollar Tournament Thread (Groups have been DRAWN!)
So it's settled and sanctioned then.
Nonito Donaire withdraws from the Tournament, and is replaced by Pete Herman.

When you get ducked for over 10 weeks, then finally get a guy into the Ring and walk out with your hand raised it's the kinda thing you wanna talk aboutBoxBuzz wrote:Interesting how you take no notice of the facts of that fight...he was rallying nicely, and broke his hand. I agree the Ending of our fight was not satisfactory to say "It's over" between us, and I look forward to fighting Jimmy Barry again later in the season with either member of my stable to settle the issue. For now you're just gonna have to suck on a lemon, and take that loss like Jeff Chandler took your title
Re: Million Dollar Bantamweight Tournament
Your words are unacceptable sir. I can assure you that once Jimbo collects all the pieces of his broken hand, the first thing he will do is slap you to your senses with it.

Re: Million Dollar Bantamweight Tournament
not sure if this will have any impact on the scoring but I've noticed that the software counts DQ's as a stoppage, it doesn't count toward Knockouts but it does register as a stoppage in the fighter's record.
Re: Million Dollar Bantamweight Tournament
It's a big 3 points for a recipient of the DQ win.Fist of Legend wrote:not sure if this will have any impact on the scoring but I've noticed that the software counts DQ's as a stoppage, it doesn't count toward Knockouts but it does register as a stoppage in the fighter's record.
