I dont care what any of you clowns say!!! My God!

What is up with this willful ignorance just because people are so desperate to praise Cotto????? He did what he was supposed to do, or what 20 other middle weight boxers could have done!!!! Take any random middle weight in the top 20 and have him face Martinez last night..........ALL OF THEM BEAT MARTINEZ!!!! BECAUSE THE OLD MAN HAD BAD KNEES!!!!

It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that Martinez was extremely damaged goods. Give Martinez the damn benefit of the doubt that he could never look like complete GARBAGE against a lesser boxer

Cotto is a high level boxer, but in no way could he dominate someone elite like Martinez without an EXTREME HANDICAP

Enough is enough with this BS!!! A healthy Martinez even past his prime with two good knees destroys Cotto easily
Cotto has always been a better boxer with better technique than Martinez. Martinez was a naturally more gifted athlete, and a bigger, slightly stronger man at his peak.

He definitely would've been a far more formidable opponent a few years ago when his knees were in better health, but that doesn't make Cotto's victory over him completely meaningless.

It was a great win, and very intelligent matchmaking for whoever put it together for Cotto.

How exactly could he withstand any decent punch on toothpicks for legs.....GET REAL!!!!

I don't see much crying.

Martinez's legs were all over the place and he's never been hurt so easily before, even though he's faced opponents much bigger than Cotto, who hasn't shown serious power above 147. Fine if you believe that Martinez wasn't way past it and the outcome stemmed mainly from a great performance by Cotto, but I think there's more evidence suggesting that while Cotto performed well, the manner in which the bout unfolded was largely down to Martinez being shot to shitt; it's not like he's nearly 40, has recently incurred serious injuries, and has shown clear signs of slowing down over his last several bouts.

Having serious knee issues can definitely cause someone to be hit more easily and lose their balance more easily when hit, and Sergio was all over the place far too easily from Cotto's shots despite being clear headed the entire time. His ability to take a shot could've also declined independent of his leg issues, due to age and wear and tear.

Whatever the reasons, Martinez has never been rocked that easily or dominated so thoroughly, he's fought significantly bigger opponents than Cotto and opponents who are more proven at the weight, and Cotto hadn't shown serious power or skills above 147. Cotto had a good game plan and he stuck to it, but Martinez's performance clearly suggests to me that he was finished when he entered the ring.

Yup!!! It was such an interesting fight match and it happend on saturday June 7th at New York. There was no doubt of Miguel Cotto winning the first. He won the fight and knocked out Martinez to win World weight TITLE. He is such an awesome boxer.
